Honda’s Most Expensive Sedan Is 1 of the Most Fuel-Efficient
Honda makes some of the most efficient and economical sedans and SUVs. However, times are changing, and cars are getting more expensive across the board – even Hondas. Fortunately, even if you choose the most expensive sedan in Honda’s current line, the price will be offset by its superb fuel efficiency over time.
The most expensive sedan in Honda’s current lineup is a hybrid
The most expensive sedan in Honda’s current lineup is the Accord Hybrid. This fuel-sipping model was redesigned for 2023 and has a starting price of $31,895 for the base Sport trim level. Speaking of trim levels, there are four to choose from – Sport, EX-L, Sport L, and Touring.
The Honda Accord Hybrid’s Touring trim gets the most value and starts at $37,890. For that kind of money, the midsize hybrid comes heavily equipped with tech-savvy features. Some include a head-up display, a Bose premium audio system, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
There are even plenty of luxurious and convenient features like a leather interior, heated/ventilated front seats, and a power-operated trunk lid. Remote engine start is also standard, as is the Honda Sensing suite of safety features. That suite includes driver-assist features like:
- Road departure mitigation system
- Adaptive cruise control
- Blind-spot monitoring
- Parking sensors
- Lane-keeping assist
- Traffic sign recognition
The Accord Hybrid Touring trim level also comes with 19-inch wheels and full LED headlights.
Save money by driving the Honda Accord Hybrid
Although the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring costs nearly $40,000, drivers will save money the more they drive it. Of course, it may take several years to realize the fuel cost savings from a hybrid car, but the Accord should last for a long time. A lot of that reliability is due to the hybrid powertrain under the hood, consisting of a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine mated to two electric motors.
According to the EPA, this setup is good for up to 46 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway. We recently spent time in the Accord Hybrid Sport L, which has the same 19-inch wheels and averaged 44 mpg in our real-world testing.
The Honda Accord Hybrid is value-packed, but its accessories can add up
Spending nearly $40,000 on a Honda Accord Hybrid may sound ludicrous to some. But it’s not bad, considering its value is packed to the brim. That means Honda loaded up the top-trim Accord with everything possible. There are no other option packages or standalone features to add. When building the car on Honda’s website, we added all available accessories. This included HPD body enhancements, wheels locks, and HPD wheels.
In total, the car ended up costing $43,806, which will easily add up to around $46,000 with all of the taxes and fees. Case in point, the 2023 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid might be the most expensive sedan the Japanese automaker offers, but it’s well worth the money with fuel-cost savings and for what you get.
