Honda is a popular Japanese auto giant that is well-known for making some of the most reliable cars on the market, and that reputation for reliability has helped the company out in terms of sales. In fact, Honda’s most reliable car right now is also one of its most popular options, and here’s a look at why that might be the case.

Here’s how Honda’s lineup ranked in terms of their reliability ratings

iSeeCars is a site that looks at the real-world reliability data from millions of cars in order to get a sense of how reliable a car actually is. But like other car critics, sometimes there isn’t enough data available, and that’s why Honda has so many cars without a reliability rating right now. Currently, the site has four reliability ratings available, and two of them are for the Accord.

The Accord Hybrid surprsingly has the lowest reliability rating right now, as it has a 7.4 out of 10. With that being said, the Accord Hybrid’s reliability score is still high enough to put it in seventh place out of 23 different hybrid cars. Then there’s the Civic, and it has a reliability score of 8.6 out of 10. That score makes it the second most reliable small sedan on the market.

In second place is the Odyssey, and it has a reliability score of 8.7 out of 10. This makes it the second most reliable minivan on the market. Finally, the Accord is the most reliable Honda model right now. It has a reliability score of 9 out of 10.

That high reliability score makes it the most reliable midsize sedan. It also helps make the Accord the best midsize sedan on the market, according to iSeeCars.

The Honda Accord is also one of the best-selling cars in the company’s lineup

Unsurprisingly, car shoppers care a lot about reliability, and the Accord’s high reliability has helped keep its sales high. Right now, the Accord is one of Honda’s best-selling vehicles. The Japanese auto giant’s best-selling vehicle overall is the CR-V, and in the first three months of 2023, the company has sold about 67,000 units of the SUV.

However, the Accord is not that far behind, though it is selling slightly worse than its smaller sibling, the Civic. The Civic is currently in second place as Honda has sold about 45,000 units of the compact sedan in the first quarter of 2023. The Accord, meanwhile, has sold about 43,000 units in the first quarter of the year. 

These numbers also repesent a growth in sales from last year. On top of that, the Accord is selling well enough that it’s unlikely to fall below third place in terms of sales. The HR-V is currently in fourth place with about 26,000 units sold in the first three months of the year. It’s followed by the Pilot, which sold about 25,000 units in that time frame. 

The most reliable Honda may continue to be popular

While the Odyssey and the Civic were only a few points away from the Accord, the main reason why the Accord is the most reliable Honda is because iSeeCars simply hasn’t rated the rest of the lineup yet. That includes the CR-V, which is another Honda model that’s usually well-known for being a reliable option.

As a result, when the car critic gets around to giving the rest of Honda’s lineup a reliability rating, it’s very likely that the most reliable Honda model will still be one of its best-selling ones. It’s possible that a less popular model ultimately gets the highest score, but the Accord’s 9 out of 10 will be tough to beat.
