Unfortunately, the TRD Pro is only available with a five-foot bed, and it is not cheap. It has a starting MSRP of $46,685, and that is before options. Because of that cost, this is certainly not a truck that is for everyone.
How do the two compare?
In terms of a comparison, these mid-size trucks are built for two different reasons. The Tacoma TRD Pro is for someone that plans to off-road fairly often, and wants a pickup truck that looks the part.
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5 is for the driver who wants more features than the base Tacoma offers, but might not need the same level of capability. At the same time, this Toyota truck does have a thriving aftermarket community.
If you have the budget, it is entirely possible to upgrade a Tacoma SR5 for off-road use. Especially because you can get it with 4WD. But, doing so will require some leg work.
