Ford is an American automaker that has a long history, and as it turns out, many Ford fans are nostalgic about the past. Partly as a result of that, Ford recently revived the Bronco, and the Detroit-based automaker has since given the SUV a lot of options and features. One of those options is called the Bronco Raptor, and here’s a look at why that trim option is such a good option for car shoppers to consider.

Motor1 recently published its review of the Ford Bronco Raptor, and overall, the car critic had a lot of compliments for the SUV. While the Bronco Raptor received a tremendous overall score of 9.4 out of 10, it’s worthwhile to mention the areas that the high-end SUV didn’t do well on. Its worst rating is, predictably, its fuel economy. The car critic only gave the Bronco Raptor a 4 out of 10 for that.

This is because the Bronco Raptor has one engine option and it only gets about 15 mpg combined. That’s terrible, but it’s actually better than some of the Bronco Raptor’s rivals, such as the Jeep Wrangler 392. The Ford SUV also didn’t do well on safety, as it got a 6 out of 10 there, largely due to its mediocre crash test results.

The car critic also gave it a 6 out of 10 for comfort, mostly due to how noisy the SUV is. The Ford got a 7 out of 10 for its design, which isn’t terrible. The Bronco Raptor’s design is a polarizing topic, though, as some drivers hate the “comically huge fenders”, while others like it.

On the other hand, the SUV did well in every other area, which is why it ultimately got that overall score of 9.4 out of 10. The area that it did the best on, surprisingly, was price. That’s because the Bronco Raptor isn’t cheap, and it starts at about $70,000. If owners add some options to the car, then its price tag can easily climb past $80,000.

Despite that, the site gave the Bronco Raptor a 10 out of 10 for its pricing since the SUV is actually cheaper than its main rivals. For example, the Wrangler 392 is $10,000 more expensive, while the Land Rover Defender 110 and the Mercedes-AMG G63 are both luxury SUVs that are even more expensive than that.

Plus, the Bronco Raptor is not only cheaper, but its 9.4 out of 10 score is one of the highest scores that Motor1’s given for the model year.

Other impressive aspects of the SUV

There are many reasons why the Bronco Raptor is worth it, and most of those reasons are under the hood. Ford gave the SUV a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, and it gets 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. It’s a powerful engine that does well both off-road and on paved roads. This engine allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds, and it’s not that bad in terms of handling either. Plus, the SUV has 13.1 inches of ground clearance.

As such, the site gave the SUV a 9 out of 10 for its performance, and it got the same score for its tech features. It comes with a 12-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster display. That’s a big improvement over the 8-inch screens on the standard Bronco. Its infotainment system also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and it gets Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system, which is the automaker’s latest infotainment system.
