How Long Will a 2019 Honda Ridgeline Last?
Many factors can impact the lifespan of a car, truck, or SUV, like how it is driven and what sort of conditions it drives in. The good news is that the 2019 Honda Ridgeline can last more than 200,000 miles when properly maintained. Regular vehicle service includes oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections to help ensure the used Honda Ridgeline’s longevity.
A Honda Ridgeline has the potential to last 200,000 miles or more
A recent study by iSeeCars looked at vehicles with the greatest potential lifespan, and the Honda Ridgeline made the list. The study looked at more than two million vehicles for sale for at least 10 of the last 20 years. While the top 10 containers are primarily trucks and SUVs, the Ridgeline is the only option from Honda.
The analysis found that the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck’s potential lifespan was 248,669 miles or more. That doesn’t mean the Ridgeline will stop running at 248,669 miles; some trucks are out there with far more miles and still going. Due to an accident or unfortunate incident, some cars, trucks, or SUVs won’t make it to 100,000 miles. However, there are a few ways to help usher your pickup truck past 200,000 miles without too much fuss.
Routine maintenance is essential to making a vehicle run for any length of time. Regular oil changes, injector services, and coolant flushes can go a long way with the 2019 Honda Ridgeline. Changing tires and brakes as needed can also help. The best intervals for all of these services are likely in the owner’s manual.
The 2019 Honda Ridgeline will last longer with all of the recalls addressed.
That same study showed that the Ridgeline is one of the most reliable midsize trucks on the market. Around 3.4% of all the Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks on the market have reached 200,000 miles or more. The average for midsize trucks is approximately 1.9%.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has eight recalls for the 2019 Honda Ridgeline. These are listed on the NHTSA site and range from a rearview camera issue to the risk of the hood opening and problems with a fuel pump failure. There are also recalls for the tonneau cover detaching, timing belt problems, and one problem with an improperly mounted airbag. If you are considering the 2019 Ridgeline, it would be a good idea to ensure all of these have been addressed.
There are 88 complaints from owners, ranging from powertrain issues, brake problems, and the electric system. Issues with the backup camera failing and the electric system concerns are most noted.
It might not be a pickup truck for everyone, but it is a good option.
When Edmunds reviewed the 2019 Honda Ridgeline, it found that Honda’s independent rear suspension on the 2019 Ridgeline makes the ride more comfortable than similar trucks. The two-way tailgate and large lockable in-bed trunk add to the creature comforts, along with the comfortable cabin. For towing with the front-wheel drive Ridgeline, the number maxes out at 3,500 pounds. That jumps up to 5,000 pounds with the all-wheel drive option.
The 2019 Honda Ridgeline should last many years and miles as long as the maintenance is addressed. Accidents happen, but with more Ridgeline trucks driving around with more than 200,000 miles on the odometer than most vehicles, it is a good option for longevity.
