How Many 2023 GMC SUVs Are There?
For the 2023 model year, there will be a few changes to the GMC lineup, mainly for the SUVs the brand produces. Other brands, like Dodge and Ford, put affordability as a key feature in its production line, but GMC leans more toward tech features and luxuriousness. For the upcoming model year, we see four GM SUVs with sizes appealing to just about everyone. What does the company offer, and what can you expect from each one?
1. GMC Terrain
According to GMC’s website, the base model begins at $29,900, while the top trim, the Denali, starts at $39,995. For standard equipment, you can expect a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine producing 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque, which you get with all trim levels. Paired with it is a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The SLE and SLT trim levels come with front-wheel drive, while the AT4 and Denali have AWD as standard. You’ll find it isn’t too bad with all trims when it comes to fuel economy. The FWD versions give you 24 mpg on city roads and 29 mpg on the highway, while the AWD versions give you the same in the city but 28 mpg when traveling on highway roads.
You’ll also get a 4-Link rear suspension with a MacPherson front suspension unit, Stabilitrak, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, auto stop/start, electronic parking brake, driver shift control, automatic emergency braking, keyless start, and an 8-way power driver’s seat on all trims, except the base model of the GMC Terrain.
2. GMC Acadia
The 2023 GMC Acadia starts at $36,500 for the base model and goes as high as $48,300 for the Denali trim before adding any options. There are two engine options on this model. The SLE and the SLT offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. On the AT4 and the Denali trim, you get a 3.6-liter V6 engine generating 310 hp and 271 lb-ft.
The SLE, SLT, and Denali come with front-wheel drive, which gets you 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway for the SLE and the SLT. The Denali offers 19 mpg on city roads and 27 mpg on the highway. For the AT4, you can expect 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg when traveling on the highway.
As for features, you’ll get dual outlet exhaust, LED headlights, the intermittent rear wiper, ride and handling suspension system, forward collision alert, active noise cancellation, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, keyless open, keyless start, and traction select.
3. GMC Yukon
Fuel economy on the Yukon full-size SUV is an estimated 15 mpg on city roads and 20 mpg on the highway for the SLE, SLT, and AT4 trims. The Denali and the Denali Ultimate both offer 14 mpg when traveling in the city, but you get 20 mpg on the highway with the Denali trim. With the Denali Ultimate, you get two mpg less when traveling on the highway.
Standard features include a 12-inch diagonal color driver information center, 10-way power driver’s seat, 3-year on-star plan, electrical theft-deterrent system, forward collision alert, GM Pro Safety, HD rear vision camera, hitch guidance, rear air conditioning, remote start, and the Teen Driver system.
4. GMC Yukon XL
The Yukon XL is pretty much identical to the regular Yukon SUV, except it has a longer wheelbase. GMC’s XL begins at $61,995 for the base SLE. With the top trim, the Denali Ultimate, the price starts at a staggering $98,095. Powering up these behemoths are three engine options.
The SLE, SLT, and AT4 have a 5.3-liter V8 engine generating 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. On the Denali and Denali Ultimate, you get a 6.2-liter V8 producing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. Available for all trims except the AT4, is a 3.0-liter diesel that generates 277 hp. Paired with all three motors is a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The overall length of the SUV is 225.20 inches, which is 15 inches more than the regular Yukon. The extra length adds to the cargo space of the vehicle. The XL offers 41.50 cubic feet of storage behind the third row of seats and 93.80 cubic feet behind the second row.
GMC is offering four SUVs for the 2023 model year, and each one satisfies all size necessities one could ever need. The Terrain is for those wanting a small SUV, the Acadia for mid-size enthusiasts, and the Yukon for the full-size crowd. For those needing a bit more length, you can easily get that with the Yukon XL version.
