The Honda Accord has been one the of main front runners in its category for the past few decades, and it’s easy to see why. The Accord has always been a fuel-efficient and reliable means of transportation that almost anyone can afford and it continues to get better with every new generation. But just how many miles will a Honda Accord last you?

The Honda Accord can go a really long way

If you’re in the market for a mid-size sedan and are thinking about a Honda Accord, then you really can’t go wrong no matter which model year you choose, depending on the car’s condition. Fortunately, even if you went with an older model Accord, then you can expect the up-keep for it to be on the cheaper side. According to Repair Pal, the average annual repair cost for a Honda Accord is only $400 and they even gave it a reliability rating of 4 out of 5 stars, which means that you most likely won’t be stuck with a hefty repair bill for it.

Additionally, if you do keep up with the maintenance on your Honda Accord, then you can expect it to last at least 200,000 miles or more. In fact, there are some Honda Accord owners that have racked up over one million miles on their cars and those cars are most likely still going strong. Luckily, you really only keep up with the routine maintenance to keep an Accord running for many years.

The best Honda Accord model years to buy

If you do plan on buying a used Honda Accord, then you’ll have the “pick of the litter” since there are plenty of good examples on the current used market. And while you can find a good model for the year that it was built, there are some Accord model years that you might want to avoid. For example, the 2003 model year Accords have a lot of complaints filed on Car Complaints due to a well-known automatic transmission failure, however, the complaints decrease during the subsequent years until 2008.

For the 2008 model year, there are over 1,000 complaints about premature brake wear, an issue that seems to be remedied in the years following judging by the fewer amount of complaints for those years. If anything, you might want to stick to the newer model years, if your budget allows for it, to yield the fewest amount of possible issues.

The 2021 Honda Accord is an exceptional buy

If you don’t want to have to worry about any repair bills or issues, then going with a 2021 Honda Accord is an exceptional choice. What’s even better is that even in its base LX form, the 2021 Accord still gives you all of the safety features you want, including the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assist features in addition to tech-savvy features like Apple Carplay and Android Auto. So the Accord is still a great value proposition that should last for many miles, just like it’s always been.
