When it comes to shopping for a new pickup, odds are you want one that’s made to last. Fortunately, the Honda Ridgeline was built to do just that. But don’t just take our word for it. According to this study from iSee Cars, the Honda Ridgeline is one of the longest-lasting pickups out there.

Is the Honda Ridgeline reliable?

First things first, as long as the Ridgeline may last, it’s important to consider how reliable it is. Fortunately, the Ridgeline has earned some pretty high marks in terms of reliability. According to Consumer Reports, most model years earned a strong reliability rating.  

J.D. Power has given the Honda Ridgeline similarly high-reliability ratings. Most model years earned a ‘Great’ quality and reliability rating, which is pretty impressive. So, all in all, the data shows that the Ridgeline is a pretty reliable pickup.

The Honda Ridgeline is the longest-lasting truck

But the Honda Ridgeline is more than a reliable pickup. As it turns out, it’s made to last a pretty long time, too. So long, in fact, that according to this study from iSee Cars, the Ridgeline ranked as the longest-lasting pickup currently on the market today.

iSeeCars, which analyzed more than 15.8 million cars that were sold in 2019 to determine which models boast the highest percentage of cars that were able to reach 200,000 miles, found that the Honda Ridgeline’s lack of popularity is weird because it is the longest-lasting pickup in its segment. According to the study, of all the compact trucks out there, the Ridgeline is the longest-lasting model, with 3.0% of models surpassing the 200,000-mile mark.

“The Honda Ridgeline’s unique unibody design gives it the function of a pickup truck with the handling and efficiency of a crossover SUV while achieving the reliability ratings characteristic of the Honda brand,” explained iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly.

How the Ridgeline stacks up to other pickups

iSee Cars also analyzed which light-duty pickup trucks are most likely to reach 200,000 miles. According to its data, five pickups rated above the 1.8% average for the segment. While the Honda Ridgeline was recognized as the most likely to reach 200,000 miles, the Toyota Tundra was able to snag second place, with 2.9% of Tundra models making it to 200,000 miles. The Tundra was followed by the Toyota Tacoma and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. 

“Of all vehicle types, pickup trucks are the most likely to reach 200,000 miles with a 1.8 percent average for the segment, double the average for SUVs,” said Ly. “Pickup trucks are commonly used as work vehicles and are likely to accrue more miles than a typical passenger car while being more likely to undergo preventative maintenance and necessary repairs.”
