How Much Does a 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Cost?
Over 55 years, the Ford Mustang has evolved into one of the most iconic muscle cars in the world. The classic Mustang coupe design has held its shape well for many generations. Another commonality is high-powered engines crammed into the small sports car. While there are options to get as wild as the 760 horsepower Shelby GT500, the base model EcoBoost does just fine. If you shop for a new Mustang, how much can you expect to spend on the 2023 EcoBoost model?
Is the 2.3 EcoBoost Mustang fast?
Surprisingly, the EcoBoost Mustang is very quick. Don’t let the lack of cylinder fool you; the base 310 horsepower turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder has enough gumption to harass older V8 cars on the road. A newer addition to the EcoBoost cars is the optional High-Performance package which adds more response and power to the engine. The High-Performance package bumps the engine up to 330 horsepower.
With the standard engine, the EcoBoost Mustang will go 0-60 mph in 5 seconds. Even though the car only has roughly 300 horsepower, it puts it down in an impressive way. Car and Driver note the chassis delivering a comfortable and controlled driving experience with other compliments, such as the electrically assisted steering being appropriately weighted in each driving mode. The only negative is that the brake pedal is touchy for stop-and-go traffic but balanced at higher speeds.
How much does the 2023 EcoBoost Mustang cost?
There are two different trim levels for the EcoBoost Mustang. Starting with the standard EcoBoost, which starts at $29,145. The price point will get you the 310-horsepower and 350-pound-feet of torque engine, LED Headlights, Blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, rain-sensing wipers, the newest version of Ford SYNC, and a 6-speaker sound system. Then, moving up to the EcoBoost Premium, buyers will start at $34,170. The Premium package includes a performance rear wing, 19-inch alloy wheels, aluminum foot pedals, leather seating, leather trim throughout the interior, pre-collision assist, and a 9-speaker audio system.
Optioning for the High-Performance Package will cost $6150, but it is worth the cost for the extra 20 horsepower and additional torque while still keeping the warranty. The 10-speed automatic transmission is another $1,595, but the manual transmission is standard. An EcoBoost handling package is available for another $1,995, adding a better wheel, tire setup, and Brembo brakes up front. A completely optioned EcoBoost Mustang will run you $47,255.
What is the gas mileage on a 2.3 EcoBoost?
Out of the whole Mustang lineup, there isn’t a better option for fuel economy. The 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost offers 21 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. Its class-topping fuel efficiency is thanks to the EcoBoost technology paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission. Mileage figures drop a bit with the High-Performance package and the manual transmission, but that is the sacrifice of the more fun driving experience. However, those options will still be more efficient than the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 engine.
Should you buy a 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost?
If you want the looks of a Mustang, the performance of a higher-end sports car, but still want to be fuel and budget conscious, look no further than the EcoBoost Mustang. It combines everything potential buyers love about the feel of a Ford performance vehicle while still being affordable. Even the completely optioned High-Performance package still rings in under the $50,000 price point. There is a lot to love about these Mustang options from Ford.
