It’s official. We know how much it costs to buy the Toyota bZ4X. The 2023 Toyota bZ4X price has finally been revealed. Check out why this electric SUV could be a bargain and how it compares to the Ford Mustang Mach-E. 

How much does the 2023 Toyota bZ4X cost? 

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X starts at $42,000. This price is the MSRP and doesn’t include destination fees or dealership markups. The delivery or processing and handling fee is $1,215, bringing the price up to about $43,215. 

You can get started in the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E for about $43,895 with a destination fee of about $1,100, bringing the price up to $44,995. Things just got interesting with pretty competitive prices. 

The most expensive trim level for the Toyota bZ4X is about $48,780, and the top-spec Ford Mustang Mach-E brings the total up to $66,095. This is for the GT Performance Edition, which includes tons of power and luxury. 

Is the 2023 bZ4X worth buying? 

Yes, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X is an excellent electric SUV to consider. The base model or the XLE trim with FWD has an EPA-estimated range of 252 miles. You can add all-wheel drive for $2,000, and it only drops the range by about 24 miles for a 228-mile range. 

With the standard Ford Mustang Mach-E, you get an EPA-estimated range of 247 miles, and adding AWD drops it down to about 224 miles. The extended range battery pack, the Mach-E, can go about 314 miles on a single charge. 

You can upgrade to the bZ4X Limited trim for about $46,700. This trim doesn’t come with extra range. According to Electrek, it rides on 20-inch wheels instead of 18-inch wheels. It also has convenience features such as an automatic power liftgate and chrome window trim. 

FWD Toyota bZ4X models have 201 hp and 248 lb-ft of toward. Equipping AWD increases these figures to about 214 hp. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.5 seconds with AWD and 7.1 seconds without it. 

With the Ford Mustang Mach-E, you get 266 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque with the standard battery. The extended-range battery provides 346 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. Also, the GT cranks out 480 hp and 634 lb-ft of torque. It can reach 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds. 

When can you get a new Toyota bZ4X? 

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X will be available in the spring of 2022. You can reserve your model online. If you want this vehicle, make haste. With the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage and other supply chain constraints, inventory may be limited. 

Toyota also expects to hit the $7,500 US Federal tax credit limit for electric vehicles this summer. Once the limit is met, there will be a phase-out period that gradually decreases the amount of money to buyers. 

The base model is slightly cheaper than the Ford Mustang Mach-E with a similar range. But higher trim levels of the Mach-E include more power and range. The Subaru Solterra is the more off-roading-oriented model to consider. Deciding on an electric SUV is getting more difficult.
