If you’re looking for a quality midsize pickup truck, the Honda Ridgeline is a great choice. With its hardy V6 engine, it has a fuel economy rating that rivals those of its four-cylinder competitors. It accelerates effortlessly. It’s loaded with features, has one of the most upscale cabins in its class, and rides smoothly over all types of terrain.

Since it’s a midsize truck, it doesn’t offer the best towing capacity. While most of its rivals can tow 1,500 pounds more, it can still pull a trailer. There’s no four-wheel drive but there is an all-wheel drive.

Honda Ridgeline Price

The base price of the Ridgeline is a bit higher than the other trucks in its class at $30,000. It’s also pretty loaded which helps justify the price. The base RT has a front-wheel-drive crew cab available in black and silver. It’s 3.5-liter V6 engine registers 280 horsepower and paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

The Sport, RTL, and RTL-T trim levels all offer a choice of front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. The RTL trim offers great value and just might be the best deal of the bunch starting at $35,000. The RTL-E is loaded with anything you might want starting at $42,000 and the top-level Black Edition starts at $43,000.

Sport

starting at $33,390, the Sport model has tri-zone automatic climate control and you can start the engine remotely. For the same price as the base model, you can add a CD player and rear parking sensors for added value. There’s an option to add a heated steering wheel for $500 and for $1,900 you can all-wheel drive.

RTL

The RTL models start at $34,870 and offer a moonroof for some pretty spectacular viewing. The interior is pleasingly upscale with heated front seats, leather upholstery, and the driver’s seat is power-adjustable.

RTL-E

Yes, the RTL-E models start at $41,920 but it’s loaded with anything you could want in a quality truck. It features an all-wheel-drive standard. The audio system is in-bed and it also has navigation, satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s an 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system too.

When it comes to safety features, you get adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist and more. 

RTL-T

This middle trim level starts at $37,000 and has more features than RTL but not everything you get with RTL-E. It’s a nice compromise between the two. 

Black Edition

The premium model starts at $43,420 and comes with everything you get at the RTL-E trim level. The Black Edition features some pretty stunning styling details. It has black exterior trim, black alloy wheels, and special leather seats that you only get with this model.

Which Version Is Best for You?

All Ridgeline trucks have a crew cab and seat five people in a spacious cab with plenty of room for adults in both rows of seats.

The truck beds for all models are 5 feet 4 inches long and 4 feet 2 inches wide at the wheel wells. At the bed walls, they are 5 feet wide. Unlike many compact trucks, there’s enough room in the bed to haul sheets of drywall. Ridgeline doesn’t offer the option of a longer truck bed like many of its competitors. There is a storage trunk beneath the floor of the bed with 7.3 cubic feet of storage space.

The Sport trim with AWD is the best option here for towing capacity. With that configuration, you get the best towing and hauling options.

For off-roading, Ridgeline doesn’t offer a trim level specifically for that purpose like many of their peers do. All models have the same off-road capability. An AWD with available Intelligent Traction Management would give you the best performance on terrains of all types with the exception of very rocky paths

With its capable performance and upscale interior, the Ridgeline is a wise choice for someone in the market for a compact pickup truck.
