The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range is the most affordable option

The base model of the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range. According to Hyundai, this model is, “The base trim with the most affordable price”. It starts at $41,450, and for that price, you get a single motor, rear-wheel drive powertrain capable of producing 168 horsepower and 220 miles of range.

While the powertrain may be a little disappointing, this base model gives you a ton of features right off the bat with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen display. Heated front seats, a power driver seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are also all standard as well.

When it comes to safety, the Ioniq 5 comes with forward collision avoidance, highway driving assist, blind spot detection, lane following assist, driver attention warning, and lane keep assist. The Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range is a great EV for someone who wants to get behind the wheel of one of these stylish EVs and not break the bank.

What other 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 models are available?

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range is a solid entry-level EV, but the other models are also incredibly appealing. The Ioniq 5 SE starts at $45,500 and comes with all of the same features as the SE Standard Range, but the SE model comes with an electric motor good for 225 horsepower and 303 miles of driving range. All-wheel drive is also optional on the SE model, and this boosts power to 320 horsepower with around 266 miles of range.

Above the SE model is the SEL model, which starts at $47,450 and simply adds more features to the SE model’s body and powertrain. A heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and a power liftgate are all included as standard equipment with upgraded synthetic leather upholstery found throughout the interior.

The top-of-the-line trim level of the Ioniq 5 is the Limited model, which starts at $52,600. This model uses the same powertrain as the SE model but adds ventilated front seats, an upgraded sound system, a surround-view parking camera, a heads-up display, and rain-sensing windshield wipers, among other features.

Which version is right for me?

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 base model is a solid option for anyone looking to get behind the wheel of their first EV. Those drivers who have short commutes found mostly on city streets will love the Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range without getting too worried about range.

For those drivers who are concerned about range, the Ioniq 5 is a very fast-charging EV in every trim level, so as long as a charging station is nearby, you will never be parked for long waiting for a charge.

If you would like a better Ioniq 5 experience, I would recommend the Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE with rear-wheel drive. This offers just enough power, and with a range of over 300 miles, you have all the range you need to drive just about anywhere in the country.
