How Much Does a Base 2023 Kia EV6 Cost?
The Kia EV6 stands out from the crowd due to its sporty design language, futuristic, yet intuitive interior design, and some unbelievable power that makes the rest of the Kia lineup look outdated and slow in comparison. But how much does the most affordable version of the new EV6 cost?
Here is everything you need to know about how much you can expect to spend on a base model Kia EV6, and how much you can expect to pay for a top-of-the-line model.
The 2023 Kia EV6 Wind is the most affordable version
The base model 2023 Kia EV6 is the Wind model, which starts at $48,700, according to Kia. This base model EV6 comes standard with rear-wheel drive and a 225-horsepower drivetrain.
This version of the EV is outfitted with a 77.4 kWh battery with an EPA-estimated range of around 310 miles on a single charge. Ultra-fast 800V DC charging capability is also standard on this base model EV6, giving you the power to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
As far as features go for this base model, heated and ventilated front seats are standard, as is an onboard power generator and a vegan leather seat trim. Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto are displayed through a 12.3 dual panoramic display infotainment system with five different USB ports found throughout the cabin.
Dual-zone climate control is also standard, with analog climate control knobs found below the infotainment screen instead of locked behind the screen’s controls, which is a sigh of relief for many consumers who don’t want simple vehicle functions hidden in an options menu in the infotainment system.
The EV6 Wind offers a ton of value for a base model EV, and for a sub-$50,000 starting price before tax incentives.
Is the higher-trim worth it?
The highest trim level of the Kia EV6 is the EV6 GT AWD. This model comes standard with all-wheel drive and it offers around 576 horsepower from its dual motor setup. Sadly, this increase in power is hardly worth it due to the EV6 GT’s low range of only 206 miles. Other nice options are also available, such as a surround-view mirror, GT drive mode, and larger 21-inch alloy wheels.
However, it is tough to justify the Kia EV6 GT AWD’s MSRP of $62,925. Of course, the power of the GT AWD is incredible, but for most drivers who just want a sporty EV with a ton of technology, a great design, and a good amount of electric range, you really can’t go wrong with the base model.
