Is the Nissan Titan a good truck?

The 2021 Nissan Titan will get you where you need to go, but there are perhaps better options out there. The 2021 Titan’s safety ratings could be better. Consumer Reports shows that while the crash test ratings are mostly good, there are a few red flags. The IIHS front small overlap test on the passenger side, which measures how a vehicle does when the front right corner strikes a barrier, is just acceptable. The NHTSA gives the overall frontal crash on the passenger side only three out of five stars.

Do Nissan Titans last long?

The 2021 Nissan Titan can be expected to last at least 250,000 miles, with proper maintenance. Of course, that number isn’t a given, as there are many factors in determining how long vehicles last. Make sure that you stay on top of regular oil changes and other truck maintenance. Keep an eye on things like rust, which you might find on the frame, bumpers, or undercarriage.

While Consumer Reports doesn’t give the 2021 Nissan Titan an official rating, it does say that it expects the truck to be less reliable than other new trucks. The only reliability rating is for the 2017 Nissan Titan, and that’s a 1/5.

If you want a basic pickup truck that hasn’t changed much over the years, you might be very happy with the 2021 Nissan Titan. It’s a full-size pickup that does the things pickup trucks are expected to, and doesn’t have a lot of the new technology and add-ons that some don’t want. Before buying, research things like safety and reliability so that you know you’re getting a pickup truck you’ll be happy with for years to come.
