The BMW X1 comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 228 hp. Car and Driver notes that this engine is “perky enough to haul the little X1 around town with alacrity.”

Okay, so the 2022 BMW X1 is peppy, but that isn’t the only benefit of its small and powerful engine. It’s also fuel-efficient. Car and Driver was able to get 29 mpg on the highway in its testing. 

The BMW X1 sDrive28i is loaded with features 

The 2022 BMW X1 comes with a whole bunch of really important features. Even the base model 2022 BMW X1, the sDrive28i, comes loaded with impressive features. It has roof rails, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a power liftgate. The X1 also has simulated leather seats and power adjustable front seats. It also has an 8.8-inch touchscreen display that’s compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

The 2022 BMW X1 sDrive28i also comes equipped with important safety features like forward collision warning and lane departure warning. You’ll get these same features in the higher priced XDrive28i as well. These are great to have, and it’s fantastic that they come standard in the X1.

The XDrive28i is the most expensive X1

The XDrive28i also includes all-wheel drive and hill descent control. If that’s not enough though, there are a variety of packages you can add on to the XDrive28i. 

The M Sport package makes the 2022 BMW X1 a little sportier. The Convenience package, as the name suggests, will make the BMW X1 even more convenient with features like ambient interior lighting and a panoramic sunroof. The Premium package has everything in the Convenience package and it also adds things like heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The Luxury package is another add-on that includes real leather seats as well as a wood-grain or aluminum trim.
