How Much Does a Fully Loaded 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Cost?
Like many other automakers, Hyundai is joining the electric revolution, and one of its first cars in the EV segment is the Ioniq 5. Hyundai got a lot of things right with the Ioniq 5, and the South Korean automaker also offers a handful of options for car shoppers to choose from. Here’s a look at the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and how much a fully loaded version will cost.
An overview of the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 all-electric crossover SUV
According to Hyundai, the Ioniq 5 currently has four trim levels. The starting trim is the SE Standard Range, and it has an MSRP of about $41,500 before tax credits or incentives. It has a single electric motor that gets 168 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with a 58-kWh battery pack, which allows it to get 220 miles of range.
The SE trim is similar to the SE Standard Range, except the powertrain and battery pack are completely different. It has an MSRP of about $45,500, and it gets a 77.4-kWh battery pack that’s paired to an electric motor which gets 225 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This allows it to get 303 miles of range in the rear-wheel drive configuration.
The second most expensive trim is the SEL trim. It starts at an MSRP of about $47,500, and it has the same powertrain and range as the SE trim does. However, it gets more luxury features.
How much does a fully loaded 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 cost?
The most expensive trim that Hyundai offers on the Ioniq 5 is the Limited trim. It has a starting MSRP of about $52,500 before tax credits or incentives. That being said, it has the same powertrain and battery pack as the SE and SEL trim does, but Hyundai does offer some options. For example, all-wheel drive is optional, and it’ll cost $3,900.
Adding all-wheel drive will boost the Ioniq 5’s power output to 321 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque, but it’ll drop its max range to 266 miles. The South Korean automaker also offers two paint options called Gravity Gold and Shooting Star, and they’ll cost $1,000 each. On top of that, Hyundai has some accessories that owners can equip to their electric SUV.
For example, all-season fitted liners will cost just over $200. The Cargo Package will also cost $200. Owners looking to take advantage of the Hyundai’s 2,300-pound towing capacity can add a tow hitch to their Ioniq 5 for $450. Taken all together, a fully loaded Ioniq 5 will cost just over $60,000 MSRP when its destination cost is included.
Which 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 trim level should you buy?
While car shoppers can certainly spend that much money to get a fully loaded Ioniq 5, it may not be the best trim that Hyundai offers. According to Car and Driver, the SEL trim is the best trim that’s available for the EV. The main reason for this is that the SEL trim is an EV that gets over 300 miles of range, and it’ll have a lot of useful luxury features.
This trim gives the Hyundai luxury features such as artificial leather upholstery and a hands-free power liftgate. EV owners who are in cold climates will also be able to take advantage of the SEL trim’s heated steering wheel.
Plus, Hyundai gave this trim some nice tech features, such as ambient interior lighting, wireless phone charging, and Highway Driving Assist II, which is Hyundai’s semi-autonomous self-driving feature.
