2023 Kia Niro LX

The 2023 Kia Niro LX acts as the base model for the Niro and it starts at $26,590. You get the efficiency of a hybrid crossover SUV for a fraction of the cost of the competitors.

This Niro comes equipped with a 1.6L hybrid drivetrain which produces 139 horsepower. This engine archives a fuel economy rating of 53 mpg city and 48 mpg highway, and it is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Niro can sell at such a low price point thanks to its lack of costly, although unnecessary features like all-wheel drive.

The Niro is full of features on the inside of the cabin however, with Kia listing dual-zone climate controls, an 8-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, and remote keyless entry as standard features.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and even a safe exit warning to help you exit your vehicle on busy roads without putting yourself in harm’s way.

2023 Kia Niro SX Touring

The top-of-the-line trim for the 2023 Kia Niro is the SX Touring model, which starts at $34,890. This version takes the already-impressive LX model and adds a power sunroof, power tailgate, roof rails, a heated steering wheel, and LED interior lighting.

When it comes to convenience and technology, the SX Touring model adds a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging system, push-button start with remote start, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a digital key.

As far as safety goes, the Niro SX Touring has all of the same features as the base model with an added enhanced automatic emergency braking system with junction turning detection, making tight city turns easier than ever before.

Additional packages and options

While the 2023 Kia Niro SX Touring offers a number of standard features, more features can be found in the available packages for the Niro. These add-ons are simple and mostly consist of cheap, niche options like a cargo mat, cargo tray, carpeted floor mats, mudguards, and wheel locks, but there is one option that is worth your consideration; the auto-dimming rearview mirror.

For $350, your Niro can be had with an auto-dimming rearview mirror. While this may seem like a meager addition, this rear-view mirror has Homelink technology, which can open your garage with the push of a button.

The Kia Niro offers a great entry-level hybrid experience with unbeatable affordability. Regardless of which Niro you end up picking, you are bound to find yourself behind the wheel of an awesome compact crossover!
