How Much Does a Fully Loaded 2023 Ram 1500 Classic Cost?
The Ram 1500 Classic offers some of the best value found in the pickup truck market. Of course, we are talking about the Ram 1500 Classic, not the Ram 1500. The Ram 1500 Classic is the previous generation Ram pickup truck which has been outfitted with some select new features. With Ram already having factories set up to build the older Ram 1500, the Classic model is a very cheap vehicle for Ram to produce and sell, making this pickup truck the cheapest full-size truck on American roads today.
With the Ram 1500 Classic simply being a slightly upgraded version of the previous generation Ram 1500, is there a fully loaded model that is worth buying over the next generation Ram 1500? Here is everything you need to know about the Ram 1500 Classic, from the bottom of the lineup to the top-of-the-line model and how much you can expect to pay compared to the regular Ram 1500 pickup.
Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman – price, specs, and features
The Ram 1500 Classic costs just $30,695 MSRP for the base Tradesman model. Yes, you can get a brand new full-size American pickup for around the $30,000 price point. This is exactly what makes it a popular vehicle for drivers nationwide. You get a regular small cab body with an eight-foot box for this price.
The powertrain behind this truck is a 3.6 liter V6 engine, which produces around 305 hp, which is sent to the rear wheels, although four-wheel drive is optional.
Owners can expect to have a towing capacity of around 4,720 pounds with this powerplant, according to Ram. When it comes to features, the Ram 1500 Classic Tradesmen is very bare bones, this is a work truck after all. Door locks and side windows are all manually operated. No telescoping steering wheel, power-adjustable seats, or even a passenger vanity mirror on the sun visor exists.
This is as basic a truck as you can find, but you get a significant amount of power for a very low price compared to other trucks in its class.
Ram 1500 Classic Warlock 4×4 – price, specs, and features
The top-of-the-line model is the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock 4×4. The Warlock comes in two main body styles, a quad cab with a six-foot, four-inch box or a crew cab with a five-foot, seven-inch box. In a crew cab body style, which features four doors and a full backseat, the fully loaded MSRP of the warlock is $52,610. You get aggressive styling for this price, with a large Ram logo on the front of the truck and a sinister set of black wheels.
The powerplant is a legendary Dodge HEMI 5.7 liter V8 engine producing around 395 hp, and when properly equipped with a towing package, this powerplant can tow over 10,000 lbs.
An extra $945 electronics package is added, which adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 4G hotspot, and a whole list of tech features. A luxury group package is also included in this price, which adds LED bed lighting, steering wheel mounted controls, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated power mirrors. A heated seat package adds a set of heated seats and a heated steering wheel, and a technology package adds front door passive entry, gloss black door handles, and a push-button start.
The last feature found on the Warlock is an optional Warlock decor package, which adds a hood decal and a Warlock decal to the rear quarter of the truck.
Is the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock worth it?
For the money, the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock is a great value and it is worth the price. When compared to the next generation Ram 1500, the closest model to the Warlock in terms of cost is the Ram 1500 Laramie, which starts at $51,820 MSRP. For the Laramie, more standard features are offered when compared to the Warlock, but the Laramie is less capable, with a smaller towing capacity and a V6 engine as standard equipment.
It may not be the next-generation Ram truck, but the Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman and Warlock offer a ton of power and capability for the money, as long as you don’t mind being behind the wheel of a truck design that is over a decade old.
