The 2024 BMW X5 competes in the highly competitive luxury SUV segment, and although it’s competing against other BMW SUVs, the X5 is one of the German luxury automaker’s most popular options. There are a lot of reasons why the X5 is so popular, and one of those reasons is because of what BMW offers on it. Here’s a look at what a standard 2024 BMW X5 costs, as well as what a fully loaded X5 costs with all the bells and whistles added on.

An overview of the standard 2024 BMW X5

The standard trim on the 2024 BMW X5 is the X5 SDrive40i, and it starts at around $65,000. The company’s website explains how it comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine that features mild-hybrid technology. That standard powertrain gets 375 hp, and BMW also gave the SUV a lot of performance and efficiency features. For example, it has an active kidney grille and a brake energy regeneration system. 

The German automaker also gave it features that improve its handling, including a double-wishbone front suspension. On the inside, it has a luxurious interior that starts with two rows of seats, though a third row is optional.

Synthetic leather upholstery is standard, as is a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen. It also has some smart safety features, such as forward collision warning and a blind-spot detection system.

This is what comes on the top trim of the 2024 BMW X5

The top trim on this BMW SUV is the M Competition, and it starts at over $122,000. That’s about double the standard X5’s MSRP, and one of the main reasons for that price increase is under the hood. It gets a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that gets over 617 hp. Just like with the standard six-cylinder, this V8 also has mild-hybrid technology. 

That powerful engine allows the luxury SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The German automaker also upgraded the car’s handling characteristics, including giving it an adaptive suspension, front compound brakes, and an all-wheel drive system that was designed with performance in mind.

BMW upgraded the car’s interior as well. For instance, it gets a standard head-up display, heated arm rests, a powered tailgate, and more. On top of that, the German automaker gave the M Competition additional smart safety features, including a 360-degree camera system and an advanced parking assist feature. 

BMW also offers a lot of optional add-ons, accessories, and packages

The M Competition’s price tag can grow even more if drivers opt for BMW’s many optional features. For example, the Frozen Pure Grey Metallic paint job costs $3,600. Real leather upholstery costs about $3,500, and there are two interior trim color options that cost about $1,100 each.

In terms of packages, there are three. The Executive Package costs $3,100, the Driving Assistance Professional Package costs $1,700, and the M Driver’s Package costs $2,500.

The Executive Package, in particular, adds luxury features like massaging front seats, heated rear seats, and heated and cooled cupholders. BMW also offers a $3,400 20-speaker premium sound system. Drivers who want to participate in maintenance programs can pay over $6,600 for BMW’s longest-lasting bundle.

On top of that, the German luxury automaker has a handful of accessories available. There’s the roughly $800 BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 Pro, which is the company’s dashcam accessory. Floor liners cost about $300, and floor mats go for $200. All said and done, a fully loaded 2024 BMW X5 can cost over $152,000.
