It’s hard to imagine that Dodge released its new Ram 1500 truck, and then decided to sell the previous year’s version, but not as a used one. The new 1500 got a redesign, but Dodge couldn’t let go of the older version. So, they left it as it is, and renamed it the Ram 1500 Classic and launched it on the market.

You can now purchase a Classic brand-new with some pretty awesome features. The main difference is that you don’t get as many trim levels as the old version did, but Dodge kept a few. Here, we look at what trim levels you can get with the Classic version, how much you can expect to pay, and a few upgrade options you get to choose from.

Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman

Designated as a workhorse, the Tradesman is a base model for the Ram 1500 Classic. Starting at around $27,395, this gets you some nice basic features. Some of them include items such as 17-inch steel wheels, all-season tires, and four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes. Powering it up is a 3.6- liter V6 engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Dodge claims it can get 20 mpg combined.

To upgrade it, Dodge offers several optional features for you to choose from. You can opt for a 5.7- liter V8 HEMI engine for more power. You can also choose front fog lights, trailer brake control, and the RamBox cargo management system.

Ram 1500 Classic Express

Like the Tradesman, they designed the Express as a work truck. It comes in either 4×2 or 4×4 with a crew cab, quad cab, or regular cab. Starting at $29,345, it shares many of the same standard equipment as the Tradesman. The only thing that the Express comes with that the Tradesman doesn’t is the front fog lights.

It also has the option of adding the RamBox cargo management system. This package is perfect for a work truck because it includes four adjustable cargo tie-down hooks, a cargo divider for the truck’s bed, and an LED bed lighting.

Ram 1500 Classic Warlock

This trim offers a bit more flair than the Tradesman does and has a few more bells and whistles. The base price for this trim starts at $38,445. It also comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. With the Warlock comes LED fog lights, headlight bezels, heavy-duty rear shock absorbers, rear parking sensors, and tow hooks.

To add more customization, you can choose heated seats, a 1-year subscription to Sirius XM Radio service, and a Class IV receiver hitch. For more power, you can drop in a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI MDS VVT engine. There are also tons of options available for the exterior color of your choice.

Ram 1500 Classic Big Horn

The Big Horn, also known as the Lone Star in Texas, is the granddaddy of all the trims. This package starts at $41,145. It has a lot of the same standard equipment that the other trim levels have. However, it offers a few that some of the others don’t. You can get a 115-volt power outlet, remote start, leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry, and an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen.

If you want a few extra features to customize your truck, Dodge has just the right options. You can have heated seats and a steering wheel, a single-disc remote CD player, and a 32-gallon fuel tank. A few more features include cloth seating and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

The Ram 1500 Classic is one truck that’s just hard to let go of. Dodge found the right truck for many Dodge enthusiasts, and it would be a shame to see it go. With all the trim levels available, you will find exactly what you want for the price you want to pay.
