An overview of the standard 2023 Land Rover Discovery

According to Car and Driver, the Discovery starts at about $60,000. The Disco comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gets 296 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Land Rover also gives the Disco all-wheel drive as standard. In addition to being powerful, the standard 2.0-liter engine gets 19 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on highways, for 21 mpg combined.

The interior of the Discovery is where the SUV really shines. The Disco has leather upholstery as standard, a sleek and upscale design, and a good amount of cargo capacity. In terms of tech, the Discovery has an 11.4-inch touch screen display, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster display, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless phone charging pad, adaptive cruise control, and more as standard.

How much does a fully loaded 2023 Land Rover Discovery cost?

While the standard Discovery already has many luxury features, Land Rover offers even more options, packages, and higher trim levels. According to Land Rover, the highest trim level the Disco has is the Metropolitan Edition. This trim starts at just under $78,000, which makes it about $18,000 more expensive than the standard version. It gets a 3.0-liter I6 engine, which reaches 355 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. 

One of the most expensive options Land Rover offers is for 22-inch wheels. Car shoppers can choose specific designs for those wheels, increasing their price even more. For example, 22-inch, five-split-spoke wheels will cost over $1,200. It’ll also cost about $750 to add a spare 22-inch wheel. Another expensive upgrade will add more leather to the Disco’s interior and cost $1,500. 

Land Rover offers option packages, including the Towing Pack, the Cold Climate Pack, and the Advanced Off-Road Capability Pack. These packages will add features such as a heated windshield or an advanced tow assist feature. The Cold Climate Pack costs $500, while the Towing Pack costs $1,150. A fully loaded 2023 Land Rover Discovery will cost over $88,000. This makes it almost $30,000 more expensive than the standard Disco. 

Which trim level should you buy?

While that price tag will pay for many extra features, it isn’t the best trim, according to Car and Driver. The best trim for the Disco is the R-Dynamic, and it’s one trim above the base trim. It starts at $63,000, which makes it $3,000 more expensive than the standard version. The R-Dynamic trim gets the same engine as the standard version, but folks can upgrade it to the six-cylinder option for $5,550.

This trim for the Disco also adds a few features to the base trim. It gets fog lamps, LED taillights, new front and rear bumpers, and more. Additionally, for the 2023 model year, Land Rover gave the R-Dynamic trim a black contrast roof as standard.
