With Chrysler phasing out the 300, you might be looking for one of the most memorable versions from its 18-year run. Enter the Chrysler 300 SRT, a V8-powered muscle sedan with the 300’s iconic styling. However, since the marque doesn’t produce the SRT anymore, a used 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT is one of your best options. Should you consider it?

How much does a Chrysler 300 SRT cost?

A 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT isn’t just an affordable used option; it’s a performance bargain. Kelley Blue Book (KBB) states that a 2014 300 SRT with average mileage has a fair purchase price of $25,922. Still, you might need to stretch a bit more to snag an example with lower mileage. For instance, a 2014 300 SRT with 50,000 miles will demand around $34,695.

How much horsepower does the 300 SRT produce?

The 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT produces 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque from its muscular Mopar 6.4L V8. The SRT is a proper sleeper sedan compared to the optional 5.7L V8 of the most recent 300S models. Unfortunately for fans of the latest Chrysler 300 trims, the Pentastar V6 and optional V8 were the only options available. However, Chrysler is releasing a celebratory limited edition, the 2023 Chrysler 300C, which packs another 6.4L V8.

That special edition 300C produces 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful 300 ever. However, the 2023 300C is limited to just 2,000 copies, so it’s a hot commodity. Instead, the Chrysler 300 SRT is an excellent alternative to the more anemic newer 300s and the limited edition 2023 model.

How fast is a 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT?

The 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT is a seriously fast sleeper sedan. In Car and Driver estimates, the 2012 model with the same 470-horsepower 6.4L V8 hit 60 mph in around 4.6 seconds with a manufacturer’s estimated top speed of 175 mph. That makes the 300 SRT a performance bargain by most metrics. Better yet, the swift sedan is plush and spacious, with 16.3 cubic feet of cargo volume.

While the Chrysler 300 SRT isn’t quite up to the new 300C’s speed, it’s fast enough to keep up with many modern sports sedans.

Should you consider a used 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT?

The 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT is a V8-powered sleeper sedan that will hang with comparable Dodge Chargers and even the Australian anomaly, the Chevrolet SS. It’s cheaper than more modern 300s, like the 5.7L-equipped 300S, with much more power. If you want an alternative to the new special edition 300C, the Chrysler 300 SRT might be your best bet for keeping it in the family.

Unfortunately, Chrysler never endowed the 300 with a Hellcat. If you want a supercharged super sedan, you’re looking for a 2015 or newer Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Still, you won’t be able to find a Charger Hellcat for 300 SRT price points. Scroll down to the following article to read more about some Mopar muscle!
