With a net worth of $950 million, Jerry Seinfeld has the funds to buy some incredible cars — and he’s done just that. In fact, the comedian prizes his cars so much that he keeps them in a $1.4 million state-of-the-art garage and bases an entire Netflix show around them.

As his fame and wealth have grown, Seinfeld has amassed an impressive collection of automobiles, specifically Porsches. Here are a few of the most remarkable cars in his collection and what makes them so special.

1964 Porsche 911

Originally owned by Ferry Porsche himself, this car sold to Seinfeld for $400,000 in 1996. Unlike some high-profile car owners who hire others to refurbish their old cars, Seinfeld did much of the work himself, spending a total of five years and $250,000 to finish the task.

At one point, he even sent the car back to Germany to get the most specialized repairs possible. This attention to detail paid off. He now has a beautiful Porsche (his favorite brand) right in the center of his collection. 

1964 Volkswagen Camper “EZ Camper” Conversion

In 2016, Seinfeld auctioned off $22 million in cars, and this model was arguably the most interesting item of the day. Although it sold for the lowest price at just $100,000, this car is actually a convertible camper rather than a sports car like most of his collection.

This bus has an emotional connection to his family. “When my kids were little we would drive around in this bus every Sunday to get bagels and lox,” he told auction attendees. “We got busted by the cops with it for putting up an illegal lemonade stand this past summer in the Hamptons.” This Volkswagen is by no means the most expensive or rare car in his collection. But it’s worth noting as it stands out so starkly from the rest.

1983 Porsche 959

This car is actually illegal to drive in the U.S., but it still has a home in Seinfeld’s garage. Up until recently, it was actually illegal to even own in America due to the German manufacturer not submitting enough units to the USDOT safety and emissions tests. Bill Gates even tried to smuggle it in once, but the vehicle was impounded.

With only 200 — the bare minimum in Germany — of this model ever made, Seinfeld owns one of the rarest and mysterious cars in the U.S. He cannot drive it, but the 959 is protected under “Show and Display” laws that allow car enthusiasts to present such “banned” classic automobiles as long as they never take them on the road. 

1959 Porsche RSK Spyder

It’s clear that rare Porsches are Seinfeld’s favorites. They’re the main style of vehicle featured on his hit Netflix show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. But this one is special; not only is it a vintage Porsche, but it’s the most expensive car in his collection, worth around $2.9 million in today’s market. On his show, Seinfeld gave fellow comedian Kevin Hart the ride of his life in this exquisite automobile before selling it for the sum above.
