Safety is a top priority for drivers, so carmakers are on a constant quest to make their vehicles safer. According to U.S. News, the Nissan Armada is packed with safety features. However, the 2020 Nissan Armada hasn’t been fully tested for safety yet by the IIHS, and the NHTSA only gave it four out of five stars in crash tests.

The Nissan Armada vs. the competition

In the case of the 2020 Ford Expedition, it has better fuel economy and a higher number of standard infotainment features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Expedition has more off-road capability with 10 inches of ground clearance and off-road shocks. The reviewers liked the Expedition better than the Armada inside too with more features and cargo space.
When they put the 2020 Nissan Armada up against the 2020 Chevy Tahoe, the Armada did better. These vehicles were more evenly matched with high-end interiors, good cargo space, and V8 engines. The Tahoe has more features in its infotainment system, like a Wi-Fi hotspot and more intuitive controls.
The 2020 Nissan Armada has a 5.6-liter V8 engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Other performance features include intelligent all-wheel drive, drive selector, active brake limited slip system, and hill start assist.
Inside, it’s designed for individual comfort like a tri-zone entertainment system, dual-zone climate system, and a memory system that remembers all the settings for two drivers. The Armada also has a third-row power seat, power liftgate, under-floor storage, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat for different cargo and passenger options.
The Nissan Armada’s crash test results
When it came to crash test results, the 2020 Nissan Armada was the worst out of the three. When the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted its tests on the 2020 Nissan Armada, results were mixed. The NHTSA gave it an overall rating of four out of five stars. In the frontal crash test, though, it only received three stars. The Armada got five stars in the side crash test, but only three stars in the rollover test.
The 2020 Chevy Tahoe also got an NHTSA safety rating of four-out-of-five stars. However, the Tahoe got five stars in the side test and four stars in the frontal crash, beating out Armada in both categories. The 2020 Ford Expedition did much better than them both, achieving a five-star overall safety rating. The only category it didn’t receive five stars in was in rollover tests.
Despite missing the five-star crash test rating and not yet having any rating from the IIHS, the 2020 Nissan Armada compares well to its rivals.
