Hymer Venture S Solar-Powered Camper For Extreme Off-Grid
After years of development Hymer Is offering its Venture S off-roader van. Hymer is a German company converting Mercedes Sprinter chassis into a van life two-person van. It offers unique takes on campers by incorporating more of a residential interior design. A pop-top roof adds a separate sleeping area accessible from an integrated stairway.
Can buyers customize the Hymer Venture S van?
“The result is a completely new category of the motorhome which we are now launching on the market, driven by the outstanding feedback on our concept vehicle and supported by the expertise of our company, after only a short development phase,” says Hymer president Christian Bauer.
Buyers will be able to configure the van based on their needs, based on the changing van-life explosion. “We’re reimagining motorhoming from the ground up while drawing inspiration from the needs of the van-life community,” says Bauer.
What is the Hymer Venture S “Instant Loft?”
Being the narrower version of the Sprinter, it can easily maneuver streets and tight off-road environments. It features all-wheel drive along with studded tires. Popping open the “Instant Loft” reveals an Infinity Screen with 180-degree panoramic views. But there’s more.
The Venture S can be easily converted into an office space. An integrated desk lies flat on a side wall behind the passenger seat. Pulling it out creates a workstation with a skylight directly overhead. And a fold-out awning allows for outdoor enjoyment without direct sunlight baking you during the day.
How convenient is the Hymer Venture S Working space?
Powering up the workstation are three 115-watt solar panels. It provides juice to six 230-volt sockets and eight USB ports. A Hymer Smart Battery System 2.0 works in conjunction with 320 Ah lithium batteries. This system can provide up to 10 days of off-grid independent living.
For lounging, bench seats that look and feel like those of a luxurious hotel lobby run adjacent to adjustable bamboo tables. They can fold up and then are stored below the benches. There is also a small sun deck looking like it was removed from a tiny high-end yacht. You can fold it out for still more space to expand functional spaces.
Of course, a kitchenette features black matte fittings where any multitude of storage space, hooks, and containers wisely utilize the limited space. A hidden chopping board expands the cooking space with storage boxes to hold provisions and utensils.
What engine options does the Mercedes Sprinter van have?
With the Mercedes Sprinter as the base, you get the standard 9G-Tronic transmission spun by either the 2.1-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine or the 3.0-liter turbo diesel six-cylinder engine. That includes a permanent all-wheel drive and an MBUX multimedia system with a high-resolution touchscreen.
All of this combines to offer independent daily living and hybrid working spaces in one compact mobile unit.
