Hyundai Casper Goes On Sale In Korea For Under $12,000
Hyundai has revealed both the interior of the new Casper mini-SUV as well the pricing in Korea. Two weeks ago, the company announced a brand new model into its lineup. Now we’re seeing, at least in Korea, it’ll be one of the most affordable SUVs on the market. Even with cheap materials being used, colorful additions to the interior of the cabin provide a more appealing look. That’s something we’ve seen more and more from automakers with recent announcements. It’s a new feature that doesn’t seem like it will go away anytime soon.
The available tech features include an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, voice recognition, blue link, and Hyundai CarPlay. The Casper also has a driving mode changer for handling tough terrain. The vehicle does not have four or all-wheel drive, but the 2WD rough road setting will help with traction in snow or extreme conditions.

There are several different variants of the Casper – Smart, Modern, and Inspiration. The Smart is the only version of the Casper coming in below the $12,000 mark in Korea. It’s priced at 13,850,000 won, or $11,860 USD. The Modern takes a roughly $2,000 jump, then another $3,000 leap to get to the $16,010 Hyundai Casper Inspiration. This includes all of the previously mentioned technology features, as well as 17-inch wheels and the complete range of Hyundai SmartSense ADAS systems. Even more can be added for an additional cost, like a sunroof for $342. The Inspiration variant is easily the best value. It ranks as one of the cheapest vehicles in its class and offers some decent features for the price.
Price Comparisons
When comparing the Hyundai Casper to similarly-sized compact SUVs, it beats just about all of them in terms of pricing. The 2021 Honda HR-V starts at $21,420 while the 2021 Nissan Kicks begins at $19,600. The lowest trims of these other models start at a higher price than the fully-kitted Hyundai Casper. The Casper might not be big enough for everyone. If it does meet all of your needs, it is definitely a good bang-for-your-buck compact SUV.
The pricing for the Hyundai Casper has only been revealed in the Korean market. All pricing suggestions are from translating won to USD, and may not be exact if the vehicle’s pricing is announced officially for the US market. The Casper is a tiny SUV that will squirm its way onto the streets by offering enough technology to keep most people happy while being one of the cheapest available options in the segment. It has only been officially announced to be released in Korea and India, the US is yet to be seen.
