The journalist listed the Ioniq 5’s roomy cabin as one of the main reasons that the Ioniq 5 is the better buy. The Ioniq 5’s uncluttered cabin and lack of ride noise do give occupants a real appreciation for the environment that the interior creates.

The vehicle comparison stated that the Kia EV6 provided a more engaging ride than the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Both models provided equal tech and safety as well as range and charging speeds, according to the review. The Ioniq 5 had a roomier cargo area.

How much will the Kia EV6 cost?

The 2022 Kia EV6 starts at $40,900. It comes in Light, Wind, and GT-Line trims. The Wind trim starts at $47,000, and the GT-Line trim starts at $51,200. It goes from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds.

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts at $39,950. It comes in SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, and Limited trims. The SE starts at $44,000, the SEL starts at $46,250, and the Limited starts at $51,000. The Ioniq 5 Limited resembles a luxury SUV.

Both the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are eligible for federal electric vehicle tax credits worth $7,500. Each model has respectively already made an impact on the electric SUV segment despite being so new.

Which electric SUV is the better buy?

Both South Korean electric SUV models are contenders for the best EV on the market. The “better” model is subjective, but the Ioniq 5 is slightly more affordable and spacious, so it’s easy to see why consumers may favor it.
