Various new trucks are on the way. The Hyundai Ioniq T10 is the latest truck to tease us with breadcrumbs to follow. Rumors suggest that the new Hyundai Ioniq T10 could be larger than the Hyundai Santa Cruz.

Is the Hyundai Ioniq T10 coming to America?

We certainly hope that the Hyundai Ioniq T10 is coming to America to battle other electric trucks like the Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, and Ford F-150 Lightning.

However, we’re still waiting for more information about this EV truck to be released. We’re confident that it will be electric because it used the ‘Ioniq’ title in its name. Hyundai has reserved Ioniq for previous hybrid vehicles and newer EVs.

Hyundai recently patented the Ioniq T10 name in Australia under Class 12, which is for large vehicles that can carry over seven passengers and trucks. We hope the title is trademarked in America as well.

Rumors suggest that the T10 will be based on the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 7, which will be a larger electric SUV. It will be bigger than the Ioniq 5. Therefore, the T10 could be mid-sized while the Hyundai Santa Cruz is a compact option.

Hyundai also filed a trademark for the T7, which could be a smaller ute. We don’t think it will replace the Santa Cruz, which is gaining popularity in America. Instead, the T7 could be for foreign markets where utes provide enough muscle.

But Americans need more. That’s why Kia is reportedly building an electric ute for places like Australia, Brazil, and Europe while building a larger, more rugged option for the United States.

Hyundai and Kia often share platforms. For example, the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride are fraternal twins. So, we wouldn’t be surprised if they’re also working together to build trucks on the new E-GMP electric platform.

The platform has space for about 310 miles of range, AWD, and advanced safety systems. A more off-road-oriented truck could be beneficial in the United States as the Santa Cruz is more of an athletic city dweller.

Production of the Ioniq 7 is slated to begin in 2024, so the T10 truck might not be far behind. It could have a more affordable single-motor variant and an available dual-motor option with AWD. Stay tuned for updates.
