For the first time ever, Hyundai has scored the title of ‘Best SUV Brand.’ And according to U.S. News & World Report, there are a few reasons that Hyundai was able to unseat Kia for the top spot on its list. Hyundai’s selection of SUVs isn’t all that it has going for it, though.

What Hyundai has going for it, according to U.S. News

There are a few reasons Hyundai was able to take home the ‘Best SUV Brand’ title. According to U.S. News & World Report, Hyundai has a diverse range of SUVs and crossovers available, all of which are hard to ignore. U.S. News & World Report added that Hyundai SUVs are known for their endless number of advanced features, well-stocked interiors, and enjoyable rides too.

A diversified, well-appointed lineup isn’t the only reason Hyundai earned the title of ‘Best SUV Brand’ either. U.S. News & World Report also considered a blend of safety ratings, reliability data, and automotive journalists’ consensus. With such high rankings across its selection of SUVs, Hyundai was able to snag the top spot on the list.

“With a fresh and new lineup of SUVs in all sizes, Hyundai wins the Best SUV Brand award for the first time,” said Jamie Page Deaton, the executive editor of U.S. News & World Report, said when Hyundai’s win was announced. “The Hyundai SUV lineup ranges from the large and luxurious Hyundai Palisade, to the midsize Santa Fe, compact Tucson and subcompact Venue. With so many updated models, Hyundai SUVs win points for offering buyers the latest in driver assistance and infotainment technology at an affordable price,” Deaton added.

Shopping Hyundai’s lineup

According to Olabisi Boyle, the vice president of product planning and mobility strategy at Hyundai Motor North America, the automaker knows that “shoppers have different needs, so at Hyundai we’ve developed an all-encompassing SUV lineup that exceeds those needs.” Take a quick look at Hyundai’s lineup of SUVs and you’ll see that Boyle isn’t wrong.

When it comes to midsize SUVs, the Hyundai Santa Fe ranks among the top. It’s also fared pretty well in crashworthiness tests and won both the ‘2020 2-Row SUV for the Money’ and ‘2020 Best New SUV for Teens $35K-$40K’ awards. Also available are the Hyundai Tucson and the Hyundai Kona, which is also available as an EV.

New to Hyundai’s lineup are SUVs like the Hyundai Palisade and the Hyundai Venue too. Both debuted in 2020 and have done pretty well. According to U.S. News & World Report, the cabin of the Hyundai Palisade is one of the most upscale in its class, and it’s roomier than most rivals. The Venue, on the other hand, boasts a comfortable interior and a long list of easy-to-use features.

The perks of buying a Hyundai SUV

There are more reasons than one to buy a Hyundai SUV. While the automaker has earned the title of the ‘Best SUV Brand,’ it also offers many generous perks for those that purchase a vehicle from its lineup. Add in that Hyundai has got you covered when it comes to routine, factory scheduled maintenance intervals for three years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first), and there’s no denying that there are a ton of great perks that come along with buying a Hyundai.
