One of the most popular automakers in America, Hyundai offers a full lineup of crossovers to sate consumers’ tastes. Hyundai SUVs vary in size and features, including electric models. Here’s a handy guide to the brand’s latest crossover SUVs. 

Hyundai Venue

The 2023 Venue is the smallest and cheapest model among Hyundai SUVs. It competes in the subcompact crossover segment, and it has a starting price of about $19,000. 

Hyundai offers the Venue with only one engine: a 121-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder. Though it’s not a powerful vehicle, the Venue abounds with features, making it an excellent value.

Hyundai Kona

The Kona is another subcompact crossover, starting at around $22,000. Unlike the Venue, the 2023 Kona offers several powertrain options. It starts with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 147 hp, but buyers can upgrade to a 1.6-liter turbo-four producing 195 hp. For even more power, Hyundai also offers a 276-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four.

In addition, the Kona Electric model has a respectable range of 258 miles. However, this version is more expensive, starting around $34,000.

Hyundai Tucson

The Tucson is a hot seller among Hyundai SUVs. This five-seat compact crossover starts at about $26,000. Its base engine is a 187-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder, but Hyundai offers two other options for the Tucson, both hybrids.

The standard hybrid powertrain makes 226 hp, and the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) harnesses 261 hp. Expect the 2023 Tucson PHEV to get about 80 MPGe. It can also go 33 miles in battery-only mode.

Hyundai Santa Fe

Starting at around $28,000, the Hyundai Santa Fe is a five-seat midsize crossover. Its powertrain is fairly similar to the Tucson’s. It starts with a 191-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder, but buyers can upgrade to a more potent 2.5-liter turbo-four producing 281 hp.

Hyundai also offers two hybrid powertrains for the Santa Fe. However, they’re nearly identical to those for the Tucson.

Hyundai Palisade

The Palisade is another midsize crossover in Hyundai’s sizable SUV stable. However, this popular pick bests the Santa Fe in almost every way. The award-winning Palisade provides plenty of value for its $35,000 price tag. Its capable 3.8-liter V6 harnesses 291 hp.

Overall, it’s a solid and well-made three-row crossover that seats eight comfortably.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Another compact crossover, the Ioniq 5 sets itself apart from other Hyundai SUVs for its dedicated all-electric powertrain. As such, it starts at a higher MSRP of about $40,000, but it’s a great EV overall.

The standard Ioniq 5 makes 168 hp and gets 220 miles of range. However, when properly equipped, this small crossover can go over 300 miles on a full charge.

Hyundai Nexo

Here’s yet another entry in the crowded compact crossover class. Starting at around $59,500, the Nexo is the most expensive model among Hyundai SUVs. That’s because it’s a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.

The Nexo is technically an EV, but it runs on hydrogen fuel cells instead of a battery. That said, this model is available only in California.
