The Hyundai Tucson Reduces Frustration With A Crucial Update
As a screen-addicted nation, we’re used to swiping away without physical buttons. But it turns out, that vehicles like the Hyundai Tucson can be a source of frustration with touchscreen controls. That’s why the 2025 Hyundai Tucson is making a change.
2025 Hyundai Tucson: What’s new?
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson is gaining a midcycle refresh and we’re mostly excited for the return of physical controls. The Tucson is gaining a physical volume knob, radio tuner, and other buttons to relieve stress.
While the current model has attractive touchscreens and innovative software, the touchscreen controls are a little distracting while driving. You have a touch-sensitive button that switches between the radio tuner and the volume knob.
It doesn’t have the most intuitive layout, and it’s been a massive complaint among critics and buyers. The Tuscon is also gaining dual 12.3-inch touchscreens and an updated wireless charging pad.
The interior has been redesigned to be more modern and practical by reducing space, adding a new center console, and adding new storage cubbies. Plus, the steering wheel was redesigned.
Plus, the exterior has a revamped look with sleek, modern styling. The grille is more flush with the rest of its face with similar running daytime lights. The bumpers and skid plates are also a bit wider and new wheel designs complete the look.
We don’t have information on pricing or powertrain options yet. But the current Tucson has a standard 2.5-lite four-cylinder engine with 187 hp.
The Tuscon Hybrid pairs a 1.6-liter engine with two electric motors to generate 226 hp and the PHEV option provides 261 hp. The new model could provide more muscle, but most midcycle refreshes don’t include extra power.
Currently, the 2024 Tucson has an MSRP of $27,500 and the hybrid has an MSRP of $32,575. The Tucson PHEV starts at $38,725. We won’t be surprised if prices increase by a couple of thousand bucks to cover the upgrade costs.
The changes we can see have been revealed for the European model, but the American version should be similar, if not identical.
