I Bet You Didn’t Think The Ford F-150 Got Cooler, But It Does
The Ford F-150 pickup truck is an American classic. It’s well-loved, it’s popular, and it’s practical – unless you’re a Dodge fan, in which case you don’t believe any of that regardless. The Ford F-150 has been known for it’s variety in trim levels that fit any style, ranging from performance-oriented to luxurious, but these modified Ford F-150s blow all of those from-factory models out of the water. That’s right, the Ford F-150 can get even better.
The Ford Velociraptor
It shouldn’t surprise you that as one of the best-selling trucks in the United States, performance builders like Hennessey would take their turn at making it even better, and of course, like most other projects they worked on, it turned out cooler than it started. It’s 8 inches longer and an inch higher than the standard F-150, and it has got the performance to match its bigger stance.
It’s not just the Ford Raptor after it leaves the Hennessey shop, it’s the Velociraptor 6×6, a monstrous and impressive beast of a vehicle that has not four wheels – like the F-150 does from factory – but six. It has 600hp and costs around $350,000 and is so large that you can’t really park it anywhere, like a normal parking spot, and you’re definitely not going to parallel park it in a busy city.
A life-sized F-150 Tonka Truck
The Ford F-150 was also customized to be the adult version of your childhood dream Tonka truck, and it comes with an adult-sized price tag of around $110,000. Under the hood is a 700hp V8 from a Ford Shelby Mustang that pushes the trick to the limits with a crazy driving experience that will fill you with the joy of a child getting a new toy – get it?
Performance modifications aren’t the only thing done to this big-kids toy, as it has a 6-inch lift kit to make it look even more toy-like. The F-150 Tonka trucks are painted yellow to mimic the original Tonka truck color and make it look more authentic. Along with some more aggregated body cladding, this Tonka truck looks like it’s straight out of the sandbox.
The Ford F-150 isn’t just popular for it’s standard off-road utility. They are so commonly found that they can be easily and inexpensively customized to your own personal taste. Their standard engines are reliable enough to enhance without too much additional assistance, and there are many aftermarket kits for customized headlights and taillights.
If you don’t want to do the leg work to build your own high-powered and out-of-the-toy box designed trucks, you can always look towards the world of aftermarket car sales to see what crazy and unique builds are for sale in your area, all wrapped up into a Ford F-150.
