New things can be confusing. In all honesty, new phones, tablets, and trucks can take a few minutes to figure out. That’s why the FCA created the Know & Go app for the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.
Instead of sitting in your truck confused, trying to google how to do something, or flipping through a manual, you can have instant answers to all your questions. Simply point your phone and different places in and around your truck, and the app will explain them to you.
Once you point your camera at different items such as the paddle shifters on the steering wheel or Drive Modes, information about that part will open. The app uses augmented reality technology to understand what you’re looking at.
For example, if you point your camera on the engine bay under the hood, you’ll receive information about the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that pumps out 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
What can the Ram 1500 TRX Know & Go app do?
According to AutoBlog and information released by FCA, the app can provide information about the drive mode switch, off-roading information, paddle shifters, tire pressure monitoring system, and more. It will pull up information from the owner’s manual to help you find the answers you’re looking for.
The app will also recommend how-to videos and share information about Ram 1500 TRX features that you may not know about. This could help enlighten people about the advanced technology they’re sitting behind the wheel of. But this could depend on the owner downloading the app and using it correctly.
FCA is rolling out the Know & Go app for the Ram 1500 TRX fist, but we could expect to see it work with other vehicles soon. This probably should be used in place of reading the owner’s manual for the Ram 1500 TRX when you first receive it. However, it can help you access certain information pretty quickly.
More 2021 Ram 1500 TRX features
The new Ram 1500 TRX is loaded with tech, according to CarandDriver! It includes the 12” diagonal touchscreen infotainment center with the Uconnect 4 NAV system, which houses media controls, vehicle performance status, and more.
The digital cluster display shows your speed and gas level, but it’s also where you can pull up your Off-Road Pages mode to see how much power is being distributed to each wheel. It also displays the pitch and roll angle.
You can use the Launch Control feature to fine-tune your truck to launch at your preferred RPM. Also, the optional Trailer Reverse Steer Control will make hitching up easier. The Ram TRX can tow up to 8,100 lb.
Plus, the center console is loaded up with a wireless phone charging dock, five USB ports, and a USB C port for newer Android phones. Two of these ports are in the rear of the center console so that passengers can charge their devices too.
