Ignoring the 2024 Nissan Ariya Means Missing Incredible Features
Stop ignoring new eclectic vehicles! The Nissan Ariya deserves a piece of the pie after providing an outstanding performance at an affordable price. Seriously, the 2024 Nissan Ariya gives the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5 a run for their money.
Ignoring the 2024 Nissan Ariya comes with serious consequences
The first thing I want to cover about the 2024 Nissan Ariya is its performance. It has an incredibly smooth ride quality. You have to force yourself to consider the pavement quality to notice tiny impacts that are quickly dampened.
However, you may notice the excellent grip of the tires, direct steering, confident braking, and responsive handling that it has to offer.
Plus, it’s not overly aggressive. It has between 219 to 389 hp depending on the battery pack you go with and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.8 seconds. This is very athletic while rivals accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under three seconds.
I appreciated the slightly slower response for more relaxing rides. There are some EVs that I wouldn’t buy for my hypothetical teenagers because they’re too fast.
Also, my model didn’t have standard AWD and slipped on some grass. Any SUV at the $40,000 mark should have standard AWD in my humble opinion.
Next up, the 2024 Ariya has a reliable and accurate range. Using it with temperatures around 85 didn’t cause any mileage loss. Using the AC at full blast, using the radio, charging my phone, and more didn’t impact the range.
However, with the Subaru Solterra and Ford F-150 Lightning, using the air conditioning seemed to make me lose about 20 miles of range or more.
The Ariya has impressive charging times that were accurately reflected during my week. With a level 2 charger, you can fully recharge the battery in about 10.5 hours, and with a level 3 charger, you can replenish the charge from 10 to 80% in 35 minutes.
With a level 1 charger, you get about one mile of charge per hour, but I found I was getting four to five miles.
Next, the interior is amazing. It’s so spacious in the first and second rows, with plenty of space for taller folks to stretch out. There are plenty of cubbies and trays to store your items, including a space in front of the center console, plenty of cup holders, and a glove box.
Plus, there is a hidden compartment under the infotainment system. You use a button on the center console to open it.
The interior materials are a blend of futuristic and classic luxurious items. The dark wood panel houses touch-sensitive buttons for the AC, defroster, and more.
While other SUVs seem old with overdone pops of wood or light yellow shades of wood, the Ariya seems advanced. Plus tasteful pops of copper break up large sections of black soft-covered surfaces.
The ambient lighting is hidden behind textured patterns on the sides of the door and under the central console for a unique style.
But large folks should be warned. The center console can be moved back and forth, but it’s easy for the side of your legs to hit the buttons.
Also, my model had the available cargo cover, and it seemed to limit my cargo space when I needed to buy a new push mower. I didn’t want to remove it due to fear of breaking something, so I would probably reject this option for my build.
It might be time to give the 2024 Nissan Ariya a chance. It’s surprisingly good and still qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
