This Insane RV Comes With a $300,000 Sound System and a Bugatti Chiron
The RV industry had a banner year in 2020. Intuitively, it makes sense. As people sought ways to travel and enjoy leisure activities safely, RVs provided an ideal solution. With an RV, you could avoid the crowds of commercial travel options. Additionally, by being able to forgo a hotel, motel, or short-term rental, you could further mitigate the risk of contracting coronavirus (COVID-19).
In an RV, you can maintain tremendous control over your environment and social interactions, a benefit that continues to drive RV sales. Because of the continued demand, several automakers are getting into the mix, including some luxury automakers. In fact, despite most RVs ranging from the mid-five figures to the mid-six figures, one automaker has manufactured an extravagant RV that costs a whopping $7.7 million and comes with its very own Bugatti Chiron.
The luxury RV market
While most of us don’t typically associate RVs with extravagant wealth, it makes sense that, given the surging demand for RVs, manufacturers would lean into the market for luxury RVs. Though many suffered economic hardship in 2020, the rate of ultra-high net worth individuals (those with $30 million or more) grew 24% worldwide, as per the BBC. The typical luxury RV price range of $300,000 to $500,000 would not break the bank for those or other ultra-high net worth individuals.
The most expensive and spacious luxury RVs are Class A models: RVs between 29 and 45 feet long, resembling buses. However, some luxury RVs are converted buses and can be more than 45 feet in length. These bus conversions often break the million-dollar price ceiling.
In one of these RVs, there’s enough space inside to fit all the comforts of home. A fully equipped Class A RV would likely feature a full kitchen, king-sized bed, full bathroom, and washer/dryer unit. Want to watch a movie or play an online video game? Luxury RV manufacturers have you covered with these amenities and more. Some RVs even have a fireplace inside!
Several luxury RVs break the seven-figure mark, such as the $5 million EleMMent Palazzo Superior, which includes a bar, 13-foot couch, and an exterior stairwell leading to a rooftop deck. However, perhaps none are as extravagant as the Volkner Mobil Performance Perfection S model that comes with its very own hypercar.
The Volkner Mobil Performance with a Bugatti Chiron
The Performance Perfection base model starts at about $800,000 and, at 35 feet long, is strictly a Class A vehicle. When you buy one, you’ll be treated to a posh double bed, full kitchen, heated bathroom, and a lounge. You’ll also be able to store your vehicle in a “ground floor” garage between the Perfection’s wheels.
However, as per the duPont Registry Daily, if you have about eight times that amount to spare, you can purchase the Performance S, which comes with a brand-new Bugatti Chiron stored in its garage. In addition to the Chiron, the RV also comes equipped with a Burmester sound system that costs more than $350,000! Burmester specializes in high-end audio systems for the household and automotive sectors, and their products are renowned for their sound quality.
Because of its price tag, Volkner typically starts with a chassis and then customizes the final product to the client’s specifications, as per Auto Evolution. Other conventional features include rooftop solar panels, generators, a battery bank, and a computer workspace. Meanwhile, the garage, which has temperature controls, can be used for outdoor dining or storage if you’re not using it to store your hypercar.
About that Bugatti Chiron
Those who opt for the Performance Perfection S can park it and safely cruise through their destination location in their new Bugatti. The 2021 Bugatti Chiron boasts a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine that generates an insane 1,479 horsepower and 1,165 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Chiron provides owners with an otherworldly performance of 0 to 60 in less than 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 261 mph. According to Bugatti, it’s the fastest vehicle they’ve manufactured, but it’s also a gas guzzler with a fuel economy of 9 mpg in the city and 14 mpg on the highway.
The Chiron will get you and a passenger from Point A to Point B, but it’s not ideal for long commutes. There’s no infotainment screen nor Android Auto or Apple CarPlay compatibility. There’s a solid sound system and a trip computer but not much else, not even standard safety features like blind-spot monitoring.
If you’re vacationing in a scenic locale with wide-open roads ideal for fast drives, the Chiron is perfect. But if you’re looking to transport a car with a few more features, several low-to-the-ground luxury vehicles will fit comfortably in the Performance S’s garage. If you already have one, you can save yourself some money when buying this luxury RV. Of course, if you can afford a Performance Perfection S, you probably don’t have to pinch your pennies.
