According to Car and Driver, they were able to get 19 mpg while testing a 2023 Ford F-150 Tremor with the 3.5-liter V6. At the same time, you do get 400 horsepower and 500 pound-foot of torque. Plus, you’ll be able to tow up to 14,000 lbs. So, to some, that fuel economy hit might be worth it.
Which 2023 F-150 is best?
If you have the budget, competing with the F-150 Lariat is no easy task. It does have a starting MSRP of nearly $60k, but it brings a lot to the table. You can opt for an available 12.0-inch infotainment screen. But probably the most exciting features come through the different drive modes.
If you get a Ford F-150 Lariat with the FX4 Off-Road package, you will even get a rock crawl mode. And while it probably isn’t likely that someone who buys the Lariat trim will do major off-roading, it is a cool thing to have. Especially when it comes to showing off to friends.
Can you buy a Ford F-150 Lightning?
If you are interested in the most efficient Ford full-size truck, you really can’t compete with an EV. And Ford’s electric truck is finally here. Unfortunately, it looks like all of the order spots are booked, so buying one won’t be easy. But, you can probably pick one up on the used market, or you can wait for Ford to build more examples.

If a new F-150 is out of reach, there are always plenty of used models available. And for the most part, this truck has been reliable over the years. So if you do your research, you can find one with plenty of life left in it. Even if it is not as efficient as some of the new stuff.
