You may have missed the fact that the Honda Pilot got a hot makeover, but its new price could grab your attention. Even if you want the standard 2023 Honda Pilot, prepare your wallet. This three-row SUV isn’t cheap. 

How much does the 2023 Honda Pilot cost? 

The 2023 Honda Pilot price starts at $40,445, which is an increase of $1,070 over the outgoing model. So, the Pilot has had a high price for a while. But rivals like the 2023 Kia Telluride start at about $35,690. 

Back in 2021, the Pilot started at $32,550. So the 2023 model begins at $7,895 more. That’s a stout increase for two years, but the base models were dropped. Plus, the Pilot got a new look and is more capable. 

So what makes the Pilot worth thousands more? Perhaps it comes with enough value and standard features to be worth it. Also, the new Honda Pilot TrailSport beings at $49,645. Other trim levels went up by $1,500. The top-spec Pilote Elite brings the price up to $53,235. 

What comes standard with the 2023 Pilot? 

The 2023 Honda Pilot has a new 3.5-liter V6 engine that cranks out 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It features an increase of five ponies over the 2022 model. Also, the nine-speed gearbox was replaced by a 10-speed automatic transmission. 

According to Edmunds, the 2022 Pilot could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.0 seconds. These fresh updates could help it be a little faster. 

It comes in FWD, but you can add all-wheel drive. AWD is standard on the TrailSport and Elite models. When properly equipped, the Pilot can tow up to 5,000 lbs. 

The standard model has a 7.0-inch touchscreen, but higher trim levels get a 9.0-inch screen. This is small compared to rivals. The Kia Telluride has a standard 12.3-inch screen. 

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is standard with a wired connection. You have to move up in trim levels to access wireless connectivity and the wireless phone charging pad. 

On a positive note, heated seats are standard! The Pilot also got a little bigger and provides an extra 2.4 inches of legroom. The second-row seats can recline and slide forward to adjust as needed. Two adults can sit comfortably in the third row too. 

Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, and blind spot monitoring. 

What comes with the 2023 Pilot TrailSport? 

Opting for the 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport, add a 1.0-inch suspension lift, new stabilizer bars, enhanced spring rates, and exclusive dampers. 

You also get 18-inch wheels wrapped in Continental TerrainContact all-terrain tires, steel underbody skidplates, and tow hooks. The off-roading system includes a new Trail mode with trail logic software and a TrailWatch camera system. 

The 2023 Pilot has a new boxy shape for a more confident look, an upscale interior, and versatile cargo space. It’s also the most capable Pilot ever. It could be worth the high price thanks to the luxurious amenities.
