Audi cars have an ideal mix of performance and style. The company’s Quattro all-wheel drive offers legendary traction. And its vehicles’ sleek bodywork and modern interiors set the standard for sporty luxury.

Audi’s e-tron line of EVs takes those attributes further, with high-tech electric powertrains, and futuristic styling. While the entry-level Q4 e-tron lets more drivers get behind the wheel, the top-of-the-line e-tron GT has supercar looks and performance.

But is the 2024 e-tron GT worth a $60,000 premium over the Q4 e-tron? Let’s explore both vehicles, and whether the GT’s price is justified.

2024 Audi e-tron GT: features, specs, pricing

The 2024 Audi e-tron GT and Q4 e-tron are on opposite sides of the model range. While the former offers no-holds-barred equipment and performance, the latter focuses on everyday function and a reasonable price. Here are the details.

For 2024, Audi offers the e-tron GT in the following trims (price including destination):

Premium Plus: $107,995

Prestige: $115,995

RS: $148,595

At a glance, the e-tron GT oozes sculpted athleticism. Aerodynamic, low, wide, racy, you name it: the GT’s bodywork is a striking presence on the street. And it has running gear to match.

The Premium Plus and Prestige trims feature a dual-motor Quattro drivetrain. An 83.7-kWh lithium-ion battery provides juice. With 522 hp on tap, the setup propels the e-tron GT to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Range is a respectable 238 miles. And 270 kWh DC fast-charging takes the battery from 5 to 80 percent in only 23 minutes.

The RS model turns up the heat with 637 hp, reaching 0-60 mph in a supercar-like 2.6 seconds (via Car and Driver). It uses an identical battery, and range decreases slightly to 232 miles. DC fast-charging time is also the same.

All models use an innovative 2-speed transmission, with a low gear for launches, and a higher gear for efficiency. There’s also a high-tech cooling system, allowing spirited driving without overheating. Available 4-wheel steering, air suspension, and multiple wheel options round out the package.

Inside, the GT has Audi’s typical mix of modern design, upscale materials, and leading technology. That creates a comfortable and functional driving environment.

2024 Audi Q4 e-tron: features, specs, pricing

The 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron comes in the following trims (price including destination):

Premium 40: $50,995

Premium Plus 40: $55,695

Premium 50: $56,395

Sportback Premium 50: $59,395

Premium Plus 50: $61,095

Prestige 50: $63,395

Sportback Premium Plus 50: $64,095

Sportback Prestige 50: $66,395

Outside, the Q4 e-tron has taut surfaces and short overhangs, creating a strong, modern silhouette. And with its low, sloping roofline and chiseled fenders, the Sportback version adds coupe-like appeal.

40-series trims use a single-motor, rear-wheel drive configuration with 201 hp. A 76.6 kWh (net) Li-ion battery provides 265 miles of range. And 150 kWh DC fast-charging capability takes the battery from 5% to 80% in 36 minutes. 0-60 mph arrives in 7.9 seconds.

A dual-motor Quattro setup powers 50-series models, offering 295 hp and all-weather traction. The same Li-ion battery provides a 236-mile range on standard versions and a 242-mile range on the Sportback. The increased power leads to a sportscar-like 5.6 second 0-60 mph time.

And a typical Audi interior offers upscale comfort, useful tech, and contemporary design. From the materials to the layout, the Q4 e-tron sets itself apart from regular SUVs. That includes multiple digital displays, flowing lines, and contrasting metal accents. It’s a nice place to take a drive.

2024 Audi e-tron GT vs. Q4 e-tron: is the price difference worth it?

The 2024 e-tron GT costs about twice as much as the Q4 e-tron. Is the top-of-the-line e-tron worth the money? We think so—here’s why.

Don’t get us wrong—the Q4 e-tron is a solid SUV with plenty of style, tech, and performance. As an everyday driver, it’s a great pick. And its wonderful interior makes any trip more comfortable.

But the e-tron GT is a next-level design.

From the wheels to the powertrain to the exterior, the e-tron GT is superlative in every way. Looking like a cat ready to pounce, the GT claws at the pavement with Quattro AWD and high-end horsepower. Its upscale interior competes with the best. And 270 kWh DC fast charging lets it replenish quickly.

So, yes, the e-tron GT is expensive, but its hardware and design justify the cost. Few vehicles compare.

With its e-tron line of EVs, Audi gives customers all-electric options. Electric Audis offer German engineering and curb appeal, in a range of body styles and configurations. While the entry-level Q4 e-tron is an excellent ride, the e-tron GT is a world-class performance car, with a commensurate price. But the premium’s worth it.
