When it comes to trucks, there’s a surprising amount of options to choose from. It’s not just ranchers that drive trucks these days. If you take a drive down a suburban street, you’ll see driveway after driveway with a pickup truck parked and waiting for the next commute to work or school drop-off line. J.D. American pickup trucks

When it comes to Americans buying cars, cars become less and less popular each year. Pickup trucks, on the other hand, continue to increase in popularity. Many consumers buy pickup trucks because they get the best of both worlds.

A good quality truck like the 2020 Ford Ranger can take you to the office, out on the town Friday night, and then park at the trailhead for a weekend of hiking. Plus, a pickup bed hauls a load unlike any other vehicle––except maybe a work van. There are American and foreign options, though even the Honda Ridgeline is assembled in a factory on U.S. soil. But what is it about the 2020 Ford Ranger that makes it good?

J.D. Power consumer data

According to the consumer data collected by J.D. Power, the 2020 Ford Ranger is the second highest quality truck of the year. Another Ford pickup took the No. 1 spot. However, right behind the Ford F-Series Super Duty takes the title for highest quality truck.

That means that this Ford pickup truck had the fewest problems per 100 vehicles, according to data submitted to J.D. Power by real owners. The Ford F-Series Super Duty has 124 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). For reference, the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado (which took the 10th spot on the list) had 164 PP100.
