Recently, Nissan unveiled its new 2020 Titan. The new Titan has been redesigned and re-engineered to be more impressive than the previous models. The 2020 Nissan Titan gets some exciting new features

This year, Nissan decided to showcase the new Titan at the Texas State Fair. This was a smart decision on Nissan’s part, as Texas has the highest number of pickup truck owners in the country. 

For the 2020 model, the Titan has been completely redesigned on both the interior and exterior. The exterior receives new LED headlights, three different tough-looking grilles to choose from, and an available chrome bumper to give the truck a more stylish look. In addition to the seven colors of paint that the truck was offered previously, buyers can also choose three new colors, including Baja Storm, Cardinal Red Metallic, and Red Alert. 

This year, the Titan also gets a bit of a power boost. Instead of the 5.0-liter diesel engine that was offered before, the Titan will now be equipped with a 5.6-liter TITAN ENDURANCE V8 gas-powered engine that has been re-tuned to produce 400 hp and 416 lb-ft of torque. The old transmission has also been scrapped for this year, and instead, drivers will find a highly responsive 9-speed automatic transmission.

The new Titan has also kicked it up a notch when it comes to safety. Every 2020 Titan will come standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360 which features Rear Automatic Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Warning to give every occupant of the vehicle a better peace of mind while driving down the road.

What does the Nissan Titan’s competition look like so far?

The Titan may have gotten a lot of new updates for the 2020 year model, but unfortunately for Nissan, so have a lot of its competitors. The new Ram 1500 has also been redesigned this year and features a more luxurious interior than ever before. Its new 12-inch touchscreen display not only adds a level of sophistication to the interior, but it also adds to the convenience factor as well. 

The 2019 GMC Sierra has also received some impressive updates as well. The 2019 Sierra not only has updated technological features, like a state-of-the-art reverse camera that features 15 cameras to help you see every possible angle, but it also features GMC’s new MultiPro tailgate which allows you to put down only a small portion of the tailgate to use as a small workstation.

 The Ford F-150 has been America’s favorite truck for decades. This year, the F-150 has added the Pro-Trailer Backup Assist to make reversing while pulling a trailer a breeze.

Is the 2020 Nissan Titan ready to compete with the big boys?

With all of the updates that the Titan received this year, it is definitely fair to say that it has a better chance of competing with the three biggest pickup truck manufacturers than it ever has before. However, because the other trucks in its class have also beefed up its models, will be hard to say if the Titan will do as well in sales as its competitors.
