The 2021 Kia Sedona LX

The 2021 Kia Sedona is nicely styled with an SUV look. It offers good value, coming standard with plenty of features, Car and Driver reports. All Sedona trims have a 3.3-liter V6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. There’s no hybrid powertrain or all-wheel-drive option.

The old base L trim has been discontinued for 2021, making the LX trim the new entry-level Sedona. The L comes with cloth upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. It also has Slide-n-Stow second-row seats, proximity keyless entry, and alloy wheels, U.S. News reports.

Also standard is a six-speaker infotainment system. Included are a seven-inch touchscreen, a USB port, and Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration.

Advanced safety features aren’t available on the base trim. But it comes with a rearview camera. Remote start is optional for an extra $425. The Sedona LX starts at $30,400.

The 2021 Kia Sedona EX

The Sedona EX offers several upgrades over the base model. It adds roof rails, larger 18-inch aluminum wheels, keyless entry, and push-button start. It also boasts a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, rear-window sunshades, and leather upholstery.

The EX trim has the same infotainment system as the LX. But there’s also satellite radio, two additional USB ports, and wireless device charging.

Front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert come standard on the EX. Additional advanced safety features — including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, a driver condition monitor, an electronic parking brake, and adaptive cruise control — are available as part of the optional EX Premium package.

The $4,800 package also adds a “hands-free liftgate, a sunroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, and a ventilated glove box,” U.S. News reports.

You can purchase a rear-seat entertainment system for an extra $1,500. It comes with 10-inch touchscreens mounted to the front-headrest backs. The Sedona EX starts at $33,700.

The 2021 Kia Sedona SX

The 2021 Kia Sedona SX trim’s upgrades make this model “a truly upscale experience,” Car and Driver says. It even has reclining second-row lounge chairs with footrests instead of a second-row bench. The SX has a heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats too.

The SX also sports an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen. Plus, you get navigation with real-time traffic and weather updates. Perhaps the most luxurious of features is the eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. The rear-seat entertainment system is still optional on this trim.

All of the above-mentioned advanced safety features come standard on this model. It also boasts adaptive headlights, automatic high-beams, and a surround-view parking camera system. The Sedona SX starts at $41,500.

Which model is the best buy?

Though the 2021 Kia Sedona isn’t considered the top minivan in its class, it has a lot to offer. According to Car and Driver, the Sedona EX offers the best value of the three trim levels. It providees more technology and advanced safety features. So it’s worth the $3,300 over the base LX trim.
