Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue Worth Buying?
The wait to see the new 2021 Nissan Rogue is over, but did it meet expectations? The Nissan Rogue used to compete against popular rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V as the best selling Nissan model. However, it’s been unable to compete in recent years, so a significant refresh was greatly needed. Let’s see if the 2021 Nissan Rogue is a better SUV.
Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue A Good SUV?
The new Nissan Rogue received a fresh redesign to modernize its look, and while it does look better, it seems very similar to a Hyundai with narrow headlights.
The 2021 Nissan Rogue will go on sale in the fall of 2020 and should have a starting price of around $26k. This price point is interesting as the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V both start around $25k.

With all of the updates that the Nissan Rogue received, it still has a weak fuel economy. It only gets about 30 mpg combined. Meanwhile, the Toyota RAV4 gets up to 26 mpg in the city and up to 35 mpg on the highway. Also, the RAV4 and Honda CR-V both have hybrid options, while the Nissan Rogue Hybrid got the ax in 2019.
2021 Nissan Rogue Power
The new 2021 Nissan Rogue comes equipped with a 2.5-liter in-line four engine. It provides 181 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This is an increase of 11 ponies and six torque. This is the only engine option available.
New towing specs for the 2021 Nissan Rogue haven’t been released yet, but previous Nissan Rogue models could tow around 1,000 lb. This is weaker than the RAV4 and CR-V, which can both tow up to 3,500 lb.
The 2021 Nissan Rogue has optional all-wheel-drive, with no word on how much it will cost to add this feature yet. However, it’s an intelligent all-wheel-drive feature that includes driving modes for snow and other conditions. It looks like an off-roading mode and sport mode are included too.
2021 Nissan Rogue Features
The main updates for the 2021 Nissan Rogue were made to the interior. The New Nissan Rogue sports a plush, luxurious interior with quilted Nappa leather-appointed seats. The back doors are wider for easier entry, and the tri-zone automatic climate control will keep everyone comfortable.
There are three new high-tech displays, including an all-digital dashboard, 9” touch-screen infotainment center, and a heads up display that projects essential information like your speed and turn-by-turn navigation instructions.
To cut the clutter, the Nissan Rogue has a floating center console with storage space beneath it. It also has armrest storage with a butterfly opening for easier access. Enjoy wireless phone charging and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The all-new Nissan Rogue also boasts the most standard features in its class. The Safety Shield 360 includes automatic braking, pedestrian detection, rear-cross traffic alert, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, and high beam assist.
But is the 2021 Nissan Rogue worth buying? We aren’t convinced just yet. It needs to keep up with the off-roading capabilities and power of the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, so we need to wait to learn more and read reviews about the new Rogue before making a decision.
