Is the Entry-Level Jeep Wagoneer Still a Luxury SUV?
Stellantis entered the full-size luxury SUV segment with its all-new Wagoneer by Jeep. This new vehicle is split into two models: the Wagoneer and the opulent Grand Wagoneer. Each model is further divided into trim levels badged as Series I-III. A fully-loaded Grand Wagoneer Series III SUV’s MSRP is over six figures, but the entry-level Wagoneer Series I starts at $58,995 and is still very much a luxury vehicle.
How much is the entry-level Jeep Wagoneer?
You can buy an entry-level 2022 or 2023 Jeep Wagoneer Series I for just $58,995. Upgrading to 4WD will add $3k to this price.
The entry-level engine in the Wagoneer Series I is the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 which makes 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and independent rear suspension. It also has Jeep’s “Trac-Lok” anti-spin rear differential standard.
Thanks to its powerful drivetrain, borrowed from the Ram 1500, the Wagoneer Series 1 has a maximum tow rating of 10,000 pounds. Whether or not you order the max towing package, your Wagoneer Series 1 will come with a Class IV receiver hitch. The SUV’s payload capacity is up to 1,590 pounds.
The Wagoneer’s fuel economy is 16 city/22 highway mpg (16 combined). Its entry-level gas tank holds 26.5 gallons.
Is the Wagoneer Series 1 fully loaded?
While the Wagoneer Series II-III and Grand Wagoneer have many additional luxury features, the entry-level Wagoneer comes loaded with features that few Jeeps and Ram trucks offer.
For example, every Wagoneer Series I has a 10-inch Uconnect 5C touchscreen with GPS navigation. This is wired up to a nin-speaker Alpine audio system. The screen also gives you access to a 360-degree surround view camera which, paired with the LED lighting, gives you ultimate peace of mind.
Every Wagoneer has a shark-fin antenna wired for a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and the Wagoneer Series I comes with a free internet trial. It also offers USB charging ports for all passengers.
Naturally the Wagoneer also has steering wheel audio controls and comes with both Google’s Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Does the Wagoneer Series 1 have a luxurious interior?
One of the most luxurious components of the entry-level Wagoneer Series 1 is its interior. Reviewers are impressed with even the base model’s fit and finish.
This base model Wagoneer’s seats are not only leather-trimmed, but they feature both heating and ventilation. Its HVAC system has three separate zones with automatic temperature control. The rear passengers even have their own temperature controls.
The Wagoneer’s steering wheel is trimmed in a material called Technoleather and is heated. The Wagoneer Series I comes with chrome interior accents.
When reviewers drove the entry-level Wagoneer they were blown away by what the base model of the big SUV offered.
“I love how smooth it is…really does feel like a very nice luxury SUV and see comfort’s great too. It’s pretty surprising to me because again, this is the quote-unquote base-model Wagoneer and it’s still a very nice and very nicely appointed vehicle.”
