Should I buy the Ford Ranger Tremor off-roading package? 

A few wild rumors were circulating about the Ford Ranger. Some people thought we might see the off-roading Ford Ranger Tremor roll out, and some people hoped for a Ford Ranger Raptor instead. 

Either way, what truck buyers want is a midsized off-roading truck to compete against the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, and instead, we get the Ford Ranger Tremor off-roading package. It will turn your Ford Ranger into a smaller version of the Ford Super-Duty Tremor. 

What comes with the Ford Ranger Tremor off-roading package? 

The Ford Ranger Tremor off-roading package takes the FX2 and FX4 off-roading packages to the next level with more equipment upgrades. In addition to the three off-roading packages available, the Ford Ranger has over 200 factory accessories, allowing you to build the little off-roading truck that you want. 

With the Tremor package, the 2021 Ford Ranger gains a 20-millimeter lift and redesigned front steering knuckles. This allows the 32-inch Continental General Grabber all-terrain tires to be fitted to brand new 17-inch magnetic gray wheels. 

You’ll also gain Fox 2.0 monotube shocks that have remote rear reservoirs and hydraulic rebound stops. These shocks are tuned for an enhanced off-roading performance and are a serious upgrade to the FX2 package’s shocks. 

The package includes a frame-mounted steel bash plate, underbody skid plates, a locking rear differential, and hoop-style side steps. This will provide the truck with more protection and convenience. 

2021 Ford Ranger Tremor features 

This off-roading package includes new tuning for the front coil-over springs and rear leaf springs to increase wheel travel too. Also, for a better ride on the pavement, Ford reduced the stiffness of the anti-roll bars. This will provide a smoother ride over bumps. 

The package also provides you with a Ford Ranger that’s one inch wider and has a 9.7-inch ground clearance. The approach angle is increased to 30.9 degrees while the break-over angle is increased to 24.2 degrees. Also, the suspension travel is improved to 6.5-inches in the front and 8.1-inches in the rear.  

You can use the four-mode Terrain Management System and recalibrated traction control system for improved acceleration and more traction in gravel. This will allow people to hit the gas without experiencing a washout. 

The package costs around $4,290 and is only available on the XLT and Lariat trims. These are higher trim options, so this package is pretty expensive. Also, production won’t begin until sometime in 2021. 

But at least the appearance of the package will show off what you got. Tremor graphics appear on both sides of the cargo areas, and the redesigned grille is painted Magnetic grey with black horizontal bars. 

Tremor is stitched into the leather seats that have suede inserts, and the interior has blacked out accent pieces. Six auxiliary switches are rated at different amp loads to help control a variety of accessories too.
