If you want to get behind the wheel of a new Ford Ranger, you might have to wait a few more months. Sure, you can get a 2023 model, but it’s from the same generation that’s been available globally since 2011. The updated 2024 Ford Ranger is finally on the way, though.

The wait time for the 2024 Ford Ranger could be a few months. The 2023 Ranger is expected to remain in production until April 2023. Then the Michigan Assembly plant should start producing 2024 models in May. 

Ford Authority doesn’t mention if the factory requires any construction to make the switch. Also, we hope things don’t get delayed. 

The semiconductor chip shortage and other supply chain disruptions have already prolonged waiting times for popular models like the Ford Bronco and Ford F-150. 

Typically when someone orders a new vehicle, it takes six to eight weeks to go through the manufacturing process. But delays have extended this process by months. There are reports of a three-month waiting time for the 2023 model. 

Perhaps the order banks will open in the winter after the 2024 Ranger makes its debut. A few models have been spotted in testing, so that’s a good sign. We could get new updates any day now. 

How much power will the 2024 Ranger have? 

The official engine lineup for the American 2024 Ford Ranger hasn’t been officially revealed. Rumors suggest that it will maintain the outgoing model’s turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. 

It provides plenty of power and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.8 seconds. It helps the 2023 Ranger tow up to 7,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,905 lbs. The new model could be stronger. 

In other countries, the Ford Ranger Raptor has an available twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 392 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. We hope this engine meets the higher emission standards in the United States because it’d be exciting. 

America probably won’t get a new turbo-diesel option. Also, rumors suggest that we could see a new hybrid setup or even a PHEV model. 

And yes, we mentioned the 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor. It could have a suspension lift, 33-inch all-terrain tires, new off-roading modes, skid plates, and 2.5-inch adaptive Fox shock absorbers. 

Is the 2024 Ranger worth waiting for? 

Yes, the 2024 Ford Ranger will provide crucial updates and possibly more power. Even if it keeps the current 2.3-liter engine, it could have an improved ride quality that is smoother. The interior could be quieter too. 

Also, it will have a modern look that takes after the smaller Ford Maverick and larger Ford F-150. The updates for the new 2024 F-150 haven’t been revealed yet. The Ranger Raptor might have black cladding to match the F-150 Raptor and Bronco Raptor too. 

Plus, the new Ranger will have an updated interior to improve its comfort and quality. A variety of tech updates will enhance the overall driving experience too. But the new Ranger could cost more. It’s not too late to save with the current generation. 

The 2024 Ranger could look slightly different in America, but the global model is pretty attractive. We can’t wait to learn more.
