2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe: price, specs, and features
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a plug-in hybrid version of the Jeep Wrangler. According to Jeep, this Wrangler 4xe starts at $49,995 MSRP. For this price, drivers get a four-door Wrangler with a 2.0-liter turbocharged plug-in hybrid engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
The Wrangler 4xe comes in six different trim levels to choose from including the Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, High Altitude, and Rubicon X. This Jeep also comes with a few different driving modes, including hybrid, electric, and E-save modes.
In hybrid mode, drivers can expect a fuel economy rating of around 49 mpg combined, and as we previously stated, the 4xe can travel around 21 miles on battery power only.

The Toyota RAV4 Prime is one of the best four-wheel drive PHEVs on the market, and it is in direct competition with the Wrangler 4xe. The RAV4 Prime is cheaper, it has twice as much all-electric range as the Jeep, and it has more cargo space.
According to J.D. Power and their APEAL study, which rates the Wrangler 4xe in 10 primary categories, the fuel economy aspect is listed as the most disappointing part of the Wrangler 4xe. If you are driving the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and you deplete the hybrid battery completely, the Wrangler 4xe only gets around 20 mpg combined.
With a tiny hybrid battery that is bound to be drained quickly, it is no surprise that this expensive PHEV’s fuel economy leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, the Wrangler 4xe is a more efficient Jeep, but there are simply way too many better options on the market if you want a plug-in hybrid SUV.
