It’s Official: 2023 Acura Integra Production Has Begun
On March 10th, Honda unveiled its all-new, four-door Acura Integra. The latest generation of this iconic sportscar shares a platform with the Civic and stays true to its heritage with a manual transmission option. Now, Honda announced it has officially begun production of its 2023 Acura Integra. The liftback car will go on sale in June 2022.
Is the 2023 Acura Integra actually a sports car?
Acura is resurrecting the Integra as the world’s first four-door, liftback sedan. Its engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter I4 that makes 200 horsepower. And if you order it with the six-speed manual and limited-slip differential, it is very much a sports car.
The 2023 Acura Integra’s four-cylinder engine will also make 192 lb-ft of torque. It belongs to Honda’s “L” series of engines, first introduced for the Fit. The Integra shares its turbocharged L15CA with the Honda Civic Si.
Acura originally unveiled the 2023 Integra in an eye-catching yellow color. Unfortunately, this sporty color will not be available on production Integras this year.
Where will the 2023 Acura Integra be built?
Honda is building every new Acura Integra in Marysville, Ohio. This new generation of the Integra will be the first one built in the United States. The Chinese-market version is built in China but is simply called the Honda Integra.
Honda originally opened a motorcycle plant in Marysville, Ohio in 1979. Today, Honda builds all of its Acura vehicles in Ohio. This includes the TLX sports sedan, the RDX and MDX SUVS, and Acura’s EV, the NSX Type S. All of these vehicles are united by Acura’s motto: “precision crafted performance.”
Arjun Jayaraman, Marysville Auto Plant lead said, “We are proud the Marysville Auto Plant has been chosen as the exclusive global production home for the 2023 Acura Integra that will play a key role in attracting the next generation of driving enthusiasts to the Acura brand.”
It was especially meaningful for Jayaraman when Honda selected Marysville to build the new Acura Integra: he used to drive a 1990 Integra. He said, “I know the excitement this vehicle provides.”
How much is the 2023 Acura Integra?
Honda is advertising its reborn Integra as the “performance gateway of the Acura brand” because it starts at $30,800. But if you want the manual transmission, you must fork over at least $36,300 for the top-trim Integra A-Spec with the technology package.
The base trim level of the Integra has no name beyond the Acura Integra. You can only buy it with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatic. That said, it comes with digital gauges, fake leather, heated seats, and a sunroof.
The A-Spec is the next package. Acura has it listed at $33,300. This option bumps your wheels from the 17-inch base units up to 18-inches and includes wider tires. You also get slightly sportier front and rear fascias.
If you order the technology package you’ll get adaptive dampers and be able to order the manual transmission, so we expect it to be a popular package despite its $36,300 price tag. The technology the “technology package” adds to a fully loaded Acura Integra includes a 9.0-inch touchscreen, 16-speaker stereo, heads-up display, microsuede trim, and ambient lighting.
