James Bond Motorcycles: 4 Times 007 Traded His Aston Martin for 2 Wheels
James Bond and his affinity for Aston Martin GT cars goes all the way back to the mid-1960s. However, every once in a while, the superspy traded his 1964 Aston Martin DB5 for a BMW or Lotus. Better yet, several of the franchise’s films featured James Bond motorcycles that took Agent 007 out of his car and onto two wheels. Here are four times recent Bonds swapped a GT car for a bike.
James Bond motorcycles span from a BMW cruiser to a Triumph Scrambler 1200 in ‘No Time To Die’
Sure, any prompt involving James Bond conjures images of Sean Connery leaning on a 1964 Aston Martin DB5. That, or Pierce Brosnan firing an arsenal of weapons from an Aston Martin Vanquish. A bunch of Aston Martins, really. However, these James Bond motorcycles reference the times Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig ditched their GT cars for two wheels.

2021 was a big year for Bond. It was, for obvious reasons, the final installment with Daniel Craig as Agent 007. However, “No Time To Die” also featured a spectacular two-part chase with a high-flying Triumph Scrambler 1200. In fact, the stunt that sent James Bond and his motorcycle on a jump was so crazy, that it required 8,400 gallons of Coca-Cola to pull off.
Yet another instance of Daniel Craig’s James Bond pushing the envelope with motorcycles, 007 rode a Honda CRF250R in “Skyfall.” Stunt rider Robbie Maddison rode on the streets (and rooftops) of Istanbul in one of the franchise’s most over-the-top chases. I mean, how often does a chase take two characters from a foot chase to a motorcycle on a rooftop to fighting on top of a train?
Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond was a case study in suspending your belief. Such is the case with the unhinged motorcycle chase involving a BMW R1200C, co-star Michelle Yeoh, and a pair of handcuffs. Oh, and a helicopter. Typical Bond.
Most motorcyclists probably haven’t heard of Cagiva. Well, the now-defunct Italian marque owned MV Agusta and even Ducati at one point. As for the motorcycle brand’s contributions to the Bond-iverse, Pierce Brosnan’s 007 rode a Cagiva W16 600 off a cliff.
