Jay Leno’s Garage Tire Shine Gives Your Tires a Wet Look Without The Mess
I’ll admit, in all my years of washing cars, I’ve never really used tire shine. Why? Because it’s an extra step in the process for a part of the car that’s guaranteed to get dirty within minutes of driving after getting washed. As such, I always reserved having shiny tires for when I got lazy and took my car to a professional car wash where they include it in one of the packages.
Even during those times, I was typically turned off by the amount of shininess that the tire dressing would leave on the tire. The coating would also wear off very quickly, so overall, I always thought that the practice of having shiny tires was pointless – until I was sent a bottle of Jay Leno’s Ceramic Tire Shine and Heavy Duty Rubber cleaner.
Cleaning my car’s tires with the rubber cleaner was easy
When I received the tire shine and rubber cleaner from Jay Leno’s Garage, I was a little skeptical at first. After all, there are so many tire protectants and cleaners on the market, what makes this stuff any different? But I was pleasantly surprised when I actually put the products to use.
First up, I sprayed on the Heavy Duty Rubber Cleaner and scrubbed the tires at the self-serve car wash I went to. The product went on evenly and easily and left my S2000’s tires squeaky clean. Of course, the car wash foam and scrubber helped, but I’ll give credit to the rubber cleaner as it looked like it did the job. According to the bottle, the Heavy Duty Rubber Cleaner can also be used on other rubber surfaces as it’s made from a “non-acidic formula that washes away clean.” It’s also good for tires that are browning with age.
Jay Leno’s Garage Tire Shine goes on thin and provides a lasting shine
After the tires were dry, I sprayed on a coat of the Ceramic Tire Shine. This stuff is made from a water-based formula that supposedly leaves a high-gloss finish that protects against the harmful UV rays from the sun. Again, I was a little skeptical, but if it’s good enough for Jay Leno, then it should be good enough for me.
Upon spraying the product on my tires, I noticed that it’s a really thin liquid so I was worried it wouldn’t spread very well. I also noticed that it smells really nice – like coconuts or something tropical, so that’s a plus. And when I spread the tire shine around the tires using a microfiber cloth, it went on evenly and easily.
As for the finished product, I will say that I’m quite impressed. My car’s tires looked amazing and the shine wasn’t too bright, which made the tires look new and wet as opposed to looking fake and plastic-like. They also smelled good, which is a weird attribute for tires to have.
Even after a few days, the tires stayed shiny
After giving my car’s tires a nice shine, I was worried that the Ceramic Tire Shine would fling all over my car’s fenders when driving. Fortunately, its “no-sling formula” is no joke and there wasn’t even a spec of tire shine on the car’s paint after driving a great distance.
Even after a few days of driving around, my S2000’s tires stayed shiny and clean, which again was a big surprise. Overall, I would highly recommend Jay Leno’s Garage Tire Shine and Rubber Cleaner as both of these products do exactly what their bottles advertise. In fact, I can’t wait to wash my car again and use them just so I can smell that sweet smell and see that nice shine.
