Jay-Z and Beyoncé were built to own something like a one-of-three coachbuilt Rolls-Royce Boattail. This new Rolls is currently the most expensive car in the world. As Lamborghini and Aston Martin continue to release limited track-only cars in the many millions of dollars, Rolls-Royce was not to be out opulenced. And, this fancy ride might literally have Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s names written all over it.

Did Jay-Z and Beyoncé order the most expensive car in the world?

Last week Rolls-Royce dropped the news that the upper-crust British carmaker is working on three $28 million coachbuilt drop-tops with enough hosting gear in the trunk for the entire yacht club.

Seeing as how Rolls-Royce isn’t spilling the beans on their high-end clientele, CarScoops, reports that The Telegraph might have unearthed one pair of qualified customers for such a car; Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Why trust the Rolls-Royce rumor?

CarScoops explains that although it feels like maybe nothing more than rumors and jumping to conclusions, some pretty interesting clues point to the Carters.

First, Rolls-Royce says the Boattail in question has a compartment in the Boattail’s trunk specifically meant to house a bottle of Armand de Brignac and keep it chilled precisely at six degrees celsius.

Rolls-Royce did this because this is the car’s buyer’s favorite champagne. Well, It just so happens that Jay-Z just sold a 50 percent stake in that company.

The most expensive car in the world is built for picnics

The next clue continues in the superfan vein of knowing where the Carters like to picnic. Rolls-Royce says that the overall style of the Boattail is meant to conjure feelings of driving along the roads of the Cote D’Azur.

This stretch of the French Riviera is a known haunt for the billionaire super couple. This would explain the opulent picnic trunk outfit.

Speaking of which, the trunk of the Rolls-Royce Boattail is not only fitted with a champagne chiller, but it also has camping chairs, multiple coolers, and an umbrella that unfolds from the trunk to maintain optimal comfort even when near your Rolls.

According to the Telegraph, Jay-Z and Beyoncé have signed various places around the car, like underneath the RR motif on the grille, underneath the rear badge, and the engine manifold.

The color is the key

Before the last major clue, Alex Innes, head of coachbuild designs at Rolls-Royce, said, “I enjoyed many meetings with the owner and his wife at their home – they were wonderfully welcoming. They like to serve food in the mezze style, so we talked about the sense of hosting and grandeur, which had to be part of this car. We road-tested with everything on board at 155mph, just to ensure there are no rattles.”

The custom Boattail is finished in a variety of blue hues. One shade, in particular, found inside the Rolls is said to be the customers’ favorite color. The name of that color is “Blue Ivy,” which happens to be the name of one of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s kids.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see if someone spies the Carters floating around the French Riviera in the most expensive car in the world.
